#myfoodies Step back in time by visiting one of the must-go-to breakfast spot in Malacca where you can find antiques and indulge in their good malay foods.
📍Sayyid Antique & Cafe, situated at Lorong Hang Jebat (Jonker Walk), Melaka.
The interior is filled with antiques and old stuffs, posters, antique roadsigns and cultural souvenirs.
The menu is simple but fast and friendly service.
I have tried their foods and drinks;
- Nyonya Laksa
- Roti Bakar & half-boiled eggs
- Lempeng (garnished with shredded vegetables)
- Soto ayam
- Lontong kuah
- Kopi O and Hot Lemon Tea
Overall rating : 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
📌Brief review:
Must-try their Nyonya Laksa (thick savoury Peranakan dishes), Lontong Kuah (the sambal so delicious!) and their homemade Lempeng (Malay traditional flat pancake garnished with shredded vegetables). Humble and wholesome dishes! 😍
✅ I reckon that this spot is worth visiting! with delicious foods, warm service and price is affordable!
Definitely cheaper foods price from other cafes/restaurants alongside Jonker Walk.

Pancakes and chill
The Daily Fix Cafe located in Jonker Street, Melaka (address: 55, Jalan Hang Jebat, 75200 Melaka) has been popular for years and we finally managed to try it!
The pancakes were a different level of uniqueness and deliciousness. The coffee was acceptable too.
Be sure to wait for about an hour if you are keen to dropby. It gets pretty crowded due to the popularity and deco that definitely stood out.
Fun fact: there is a barista choice choice if you are fickle minded and indecisive on what drink to order and they will tailor something for you. yay or nay?#awesomepic #cafe #coffee #together #deliciousfood

Chop Tiang Bee Cafe
#malaysia
My boyfriend ventured around Jonker Street and chance upon Chop Tiang Bee Cafe which is located in a shop house like building. You would pass by the lawn first before entering the cafe area where you can order items from the menu.
The place serves up fusion style of food where you can find local delights with a mix of chinese and eastern food. Such as the nasi lemak or smoke duck. However he tried the fried kway tiao.
it is a nice place for nature lovers as you get to be out in the open, at the same time admiring the vintage Chinese interior decor on the inside when escaping the heat.

It is just like other Hainamese chicken rice, and usually condiments with special sour and hot chili sauce. However, here in Melaka, the rice is specially moulded into balls shape.

Jonker Street Night Market ✨
Jonker street one of the favorite tourist place whenever they go to Melaka. A famous street that is vastly different during day and night. Daytime is a good place to shop along the street for local snacks and souvenirs. Night time during weekends is a busy bazaar with tonnes of stalls selling street food and souvenirs
The place is filled with amazing food and local items. Make sure you bring enough cash on hand if you are planning to splurge. You can walk shop along longer street for souvenir, clothes, handmade stuffs, there are famous chicken rice ball, chicken rice, cendol, local authentical nyonya food along the street too.
I enjoyed browsing through the different items and bargaining with the vendors. I highly recommend this unique and enchanting experience to anyone who plans to visit Malacca. ❤️

Famous Melaka Chicken Rice Balls
One of the foods that I wanted to try when I visited Malacca was chicken rice balls. The chicken rice I’m used to just comes with a plate of rice but the ones from Chung Wah is different as the rice are rolled into sticky balls. It was my first time trying this and I was not disappointed! There was a long queue as always and we took about an hour or so just to be seated. The chicken was fragrant and well cooked and the rice balls were sticky with hints of ginger and garlic. Overall is was a yummy version of chicken rice that I enjoyed. You can find them at the entrance of Jonker Street, just next to Hard Rock Cafe. If you don’t mind the long wait, do give them a try when here!

If you are away from home, one thing food lovers like myself seek will be local food.
At Melaka do try it’s chicken rice ball where you get to savour tasty rice (it’s oily cooked yellow fragrant rice) made into tiny balls, served with meat like chicken, roasted pork etc.

Probably the best Nyonya Laksa in Malacca
This is the best Nyonya Laksa I've eaten in Malacca. I was there to explore Jonker Street Night Market at 6pm & saw this stall with quite a number of people eating the Nyonya laksa & it does look appetising to me. So I grabbed a seat & ordered one. And I have no complaints about it. The gravy is thick, flavour is there & best part is, it costs only RM7. Cockles in the laksa was very fresh too. Their Chendol (RM5) was also very nice. Better than others I've eaten in Malacca. Sadly, I doubt it is open in the day. It seems like it is only there when the night market starts. Do not miss this stall if you are a Laksa lover.

Jonker Walk in the day 🌞
Jonker walk in the day is beautiful, with amazing heritage buildings & structures. There are also many cafes/shop with each their own style & story.
Popular cafes like "Jonker 88", "The Stolen Cup" & famous "Chung Wah Chicken Rice Ball" will be seen with long queues.
There are also many shops for u to buy souvenirs and local produce back home.
The vibe is definitely different from the night market.
It is nice breezy & beautiful to just take a stroll down to appreciate the historical heritage buildings.
Beware of traffic. It can get quite conjested during the weekends.

Jonker Street Night Market 💯
Address - Jalan Hang Jebat, 75200 Melaka, Malaysia
Highlights - Huge Street Night Market
Rating - 8/10
Jonker Street Night Market is a must come place whenever you visit Malacca.
It opens only on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. From 6pm till Midnight.
It spans throughout the whole of Jonker Street from one end to another. It is huge, with many stalls vendors selling their products, but some are repetitive. Pricings are on the higher side as it is a tourist spot. So be prepared to spend.
It is also a nice place to take beautiful pictures of the historical buildings & lighting decorations at night.
It will be very crowded & stuffy. So be prepared. Try to avoid Sunday, as some stalls may not be open & they closes earlier than Fridays/Saturdays.

Things to do in Melaka
1. Jonker Street Weekend Night Market
The weekend night market runs every Friday to Sunday (albeit in a slightly reduced form on Sunday) from the river to the far end of Jonker Street. We highly recommend you try to coincide your stay in Melaka during a weekend as it is hands down one#sta#goo#awesomepic utside ycation of the best night markets we visited in the whole of Asia. The range of products was varied (so not just your usual tourist tat) plus the food options available were fantastic and very cheap. The entertainment on offer during the night market also kept us entertained. Our highlight on the main stage was some synchronised dancing by one of the local ladies groups – who needs ‘Strictly Come Dancing with the Stars’ (or whatever it is called) when you have cute old ladies doing cartwheels in unison?

The Famous Jonker
This is a must go place in Malacca. This whole street is filled with savoury foods, sweets and shopping. There’s plenty of good cafes around the area and the deco is just amazing. While jostling down the street, you will come across many art murals and historic monuments. You can expect the streets to be very busy on the weekends
When nightfall comes, the vibe gets even better. Stalls are open on the roadside selling traditional food like satay, carrot cake, steam cockles and more. Live bands playing every corner of the streets and people dancing to the tune. It a great atmosphere to relax, socialise and have a great time.#malaysia #malacca

Awesome Dim Sum
Was taking a morning walk around our hotel area when we saw this small coffee shop at the corner. Decided to try their dim sum and really did not regret the decision. Their Shrimp Sui Mai was so good that we ordered a second serving of it. Their Xiao Long Bao’s soup taste so rich and so different from those high end places. Chicken Sui Mai was another great choice. You can really see the chicken shreds inside the Sui Mai after taking half a bite from it. The people that ran the place are very friendly also. Highly recommended to try if you are in Jonker Area.#jonkerstreet

Nanyang old dreams, experience Peranakan life in Malacca
✨Malaysia tourism, visit Malacca
😁Highly recommend sisters to arrange this itinerary!
Change into Peranakan attire and then visit the Red House and Jonker Street~
A different experience, take some unique travel photos
·
⭐️Baba and Nyonya are the sons and daughters born from the marriages between Chinese immigrants and local Malaysians in the past. Actually, their numbers are dwindling nowadays, but many of their cultural aspects are still preserved, which is very meaningful!
💃🏻I have checked in at the Red House and Jonker Street before when visiting Malacca, but this time the experience is definitely more meaningful.
Shop: Colour Nyonya Melaka
💰Cost: 48 Malaysian Ringgit for a 3-hour photo shoot.
📍Photo spots: Just walk through Jonker Street to the Red House, there are many street scenes suitable for photography along the way, but you can also go inside the Peranakan museum on the street to take pictures.
