For our stay, we chose the 'Old Stories•Mountain and Sea Affairs' guesthouse, located halfway up the hill, facing the Goddess Mountain of Lugu Lake⛰️Each room has an excellent view, far from the hustle and bustle of the city, with every sight a feast for the eyes. The rammed earth wall technique of the guesthouse and the detailed decorations in the rooms all add points to this trip.

We got up early to experience the local specialty of 'waterborne poplar flowers', sitting on a raft to appreciate the spectacle of 'the rosy clouds and solitary ducks flying together, the autumn waters merging with the sky into one color', and couldn't help but marvel at it. The raft slowly travels on the lake surface, hands touching the crystal-clear water, and under the rendering of camera art, it's like entering another animated world.

Since there are no other means of transportation, it is necessary to contact local drivers in advance to travel around the lake. Strolling along the lakeside after the rain, I was captivated by the pristine natural landscape. It was as if I was immersed in a magnificent painting of nature, utterly entrancing. Lugu Lake is indeed a place that sets one's heart and mind aflutter. "The scenery changes with the seasons, but the joy it brings is endless."

During my two-day stay at Lugu Lake, I spent one day driving around the lake and another day lounging in a homestay, letting my mind wander.
Gazing out of the window - nature's own picture frame - I found myself daydreaming about the Goddess Mountain across the lake, indulging in fantasies I dare not entertain amidst the hustle and bustle of work. Each window seemed to play its own movie of nature's grandeur.
Meanwhile, the children were happily engaged in the garden, admiring flowers, petting cats, and playing hide-and-seek. The garden also offered a delightful French-style afternoon tea, maintaining its romantic charm. As dusk fell, one could lie on the room's terrace, watching the sunset fade into the night.
When night fell, a warm fire could be lit, providing a cozy setting for everyone to chat and reminisce. After drinking the heartwarming milk brought to them, the children would take a bath and fall into a deep sleep.

I stayed at Lugu Lake for over a week and found these must-stay hotels
Everyone says that Lugu Lake in Yunnan is beautiful, but I didn't expect it to be so stunning.
Lugu Lake is a highland lake shared by Yunnan and Sichuan. Although Sichuan also has a large area, most people still focus on the Yunnan side when traveling to Lugu Lake.
There are many hotels of various sizes around Lugu Lake, including upscale B&Bs and budget hostels. However, if you have a sufficient budget when visiting Lugu Lake, I would still recommend choosing some of the nicer B&Bs.
I stayed at Lugu Lake for a week and stayed in four different B&Bs, each with its own characteristics. I'm sharing them here for those who might need a reference.
1⃣️ An & Resort Hotel (Pictures 1, 2)
Located in Daluoshui Village, this is a frontline lakeside hotel, right at the doorstep of Lugu Lake. The room's balcony is not only unobstructed for viewing the scenery but also allows you to feed seagulls from the balcony.
Feature: Frontline lake view, you can watch the sunrise from the balcony, and each room has a mini washing machine which is very convenient.
2⃣️ Xujiu·Shanhai Shi (Pictures 3, 4)
I absolutely love the huge window in the room, offering an unobstructed view of the entire Gemu Goddess Mountain. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the lobby restaurant on the first floor are also a superb spot for taking pictures; every shot is like a masterpiece. The hotel's own restaurant tastes great and is worth a try.
3⃣️ Qie Man·Ruying Song Half-Mountain Hotel (Pictures 5, 6)
A hotel where Hu Ge has stayed, located at the top of the hill. It's tiring to walk up, but the hotel has a car that can shuttle from the parking lot below to the hotel. The scenery is absolutely amazing. The piano in the hotel lobby is very photogenic, especially during sunset. Behind the hotel, there is a bird's nest-style viewing platform in the pine forest.
4⃣️ Lugu Lake Qiushan (Pictures 7, 8)
The rooms are super big. Although it's not a lakeside hotel, the view in front is completely unobstructed, and the scenery is very good. Moreover, it's a short walk to the Langfang Pier. The Qiushan Lake View Cafe on the first floor of the hotel is very well decorated, with great taste and aesthetics.
There are many other excellent hotels and B&Bs around Lugu Lake. The above B&Bs are based on my own experience, and prices range from 1000+ to 3000, so you can choose according to your budget and preferences.

🛏️Room Type: I stayed in the 'Mountain and Sea·Own Time·Independent Garden Lake View Suite', and I was fortunate to have a small courtyard with a view of the Gemu Goddess Mountain, with the charm of the wild South of France. The room has a French raw wood style, a real fireplace, and underfloor heating throughout. With Dyson hairdryer and humidifier, first-class bathroom facilities, and Acqua di Parma toiletries, they have taken care of every detail and comfort to the extreme.
