Among my favourite dishes are the signature crispy pork bun, generous filling, and the Wanton soup, vey flavourful. Despite the busy atmosphere, we were able to secure a table promptly, thanks to the efficient turnover rate of tables.

Hooga warehouse sale
#weekendgetaways bring me to Singapore for weekend getaway at the shopping malls today. This is the warehouse sale for the lifestyle shop, Hooga. They are having sales and a temporary space is set up to cater to these sales. There are many items on sale, and it is more than 50% off retail price. You can also wait for their time sales and buy the items you need. You can try their diffuser and they even have Changi airport and Gardens by the Bay scents too. The staff will provide plastic bag at no extra charges but you can also bring your own.

Can lah! Let’s go Christmas party la! Christmas is the best time to go feasting on the Christmas menu. Here at Collins, you can also find their restaurants decorated nicely too. They are also a popular place for family dinner, and they sell drinks too. Over here at this outlet, there is an outdoor bar area so you can also just enjoy a drink too. I don’t really remember if it is possible to make table reservations. Most of the time, there is a standing queue, and you only get seated once all your parties are present. It can be a headache when the queue is too long and your parties are not present at the same time. There are also many others restaurants too!

Can lah! Let’s go Christmas party la! This location is on the ground floor of Westgate shopping center. Yu can find many related Disney products for this Christmas seasons. They are great for Christmas presents for the children. You also can get these presents wrapped nicely at the wrapping station too. Disney is a great way to start looking for presents as they have many of the cartoon characters and heroes under their branding. Majority of the children will be able to identify these characters as well. This is a temporary setup for Christmas. Most of the items here are carefully selected for Christmas.

Johan Paris (French Japanese Bakery) Westgate
Johan Paris is a Japanese Bakery with French Origin. A collaboration with Mr. Roland Johan, Johan Paris opened its first bakery in 1983 at Japan Ginza, aiming to introduce Europe's bread culture to the world by gathering bread from France, Germany, Italy and Japan in one place. This Johan Paris outlet is located in Westgate B2, just next to Eccellente by HAO Mart. Everything on display just looked so delicious. Must try the Chef recommendation Melted Cheese Bread, Lemon and Cranberry, Fig & Walnut Roll, Margherita, Yuzu Pan, Apple Teatime and Pain au Chocolate. Their Croissant had a nice crunch with butterscotch sweetness. Their baguette is very crusty and soft inside. Best eaten on the day of purchase.

Especially on Fridays at Westgate mall ground level, you can always enjoy live singing by invited singers and bands. For their line up, you can check the website for more details.
The live band stage is just right beside The Walk sculpture, outside Collin’s. There are plenty of seats around this area. Else you can always go up to level 2, 3 or 4 and look down to the stage. The live singing is free to watch for all shoppers and free standing/sitting for everyone. If you are inside the restaurants near the stage, you will be able to enjoy it too. For example, at Collin’s, there is outdoor seating. So you can enjoy some beer at the same time while listening to the live band.

This is part of CapitaLand Arts which is known as Art @ CapitaLand. In all of their malls, you can always spot arts, sculptures, paintings and more around their vicinity. From the website, CapitaLand aims to merge art with architecture, beauty and engineering together. Take Westgate mall for example, you can see both outdoor and indoor tenants. The ground level is filled with greenery and improves shoppers’ moods when they are shopping. If you are here, I will recommend you to visit the Interlace Panda sculptures. There are a total of four pandas and there are colourful pandas. On their bodies, they have paints splashed on them with different meaning for each colour. These pandas are huge and kids will love playing with them. They are the Mama and Papa Panda and with their two children Pandas.

I came across this Space for Our Dreams exhibition at Westgate Mall, at the outdoor section on ground level right outside the 24 hours linkway to Boon Lay way. It is worthwhile to check this exhibition out.
This exhibition is about making long terms plans in future planning of Singapore by URA (Urban Redevelopment Authority). It includes all sorts of possibilities to dream big in Singapore’s roadmap.
For example, a well connected transport hub in how people and goods can move more efficiently. Maximising space to create more recreation areas to build communities and making a liveable space.
The most interesting item will be the flying taxi. From the exhibition, “ a proposed 12km-long flight operated by Volocopter is expected to be ready for launch around early/mid 2024.”

One of the best fruit teas around Singapore and they have the most beautiful aesthetic designs for a drinks store. You can also order through their app and pick it up upon arriving at the store. I will recommend my usually favourite Mango Cheezo which is fresh mango shaved ice and topped with cheese foam. You can add toppings to level up and I will suggest you top up with . Plus, there is always a new seasonal menu and I had their new Honey Peach tea too. In order to taste the different layers of the cheezo tea, you will drink it with a straw and also from the top. The top layer will be the cheese foam and you can use the straw to drink the fresh mango. Then you mix the cheese and mango and drink it together.

A fried chicken franchise outlet from Philippines. A very nice and crunchy friend chicken and pair it with their hotdog spaghetti for a full meal.
There are many outlets in Singapore and a new outlet coming soon in the north side. It is so convenient and reasonably priced. Their mascot is a bee with red and yellow stripes. There is always a bee in front of Jollibee. Remember to take a photo with the bee.
Their fried chicken taste is so authentic and it is totally different from the usual fried chicken. Its skin still remain crispy even if you didn’t eat it at once.
Tip: order their adobo rice and make it a even fuller meal

This is the place you go for when we are looking for a cheap and filling ‘Italian’ meal. The menu is very extensive offering dishes such as doria, hamburgs, pasta, and pizza. The booth seats have patterns in stripes of red, green, and white (like the Italian flag) and there are vintage-style lamps and pictures of famous Italian landmarks strewn on the walls. It’s also half certified so it’s definitely Muslim-friendly!

One of the popular bubble tea shops in Singapore and Hey Tea has a few outlets in Singapore. They always have seasonal fruits drinks and I am here for their Taro special. The queue at Hey Tea is not as long as before when they just open their shops. It is much easier to order now and also you can place order in advance on their app then when you arrive, you can just collect your drinks. All the Hey Tea outlets in Singapore have seats available and you can enjoy your drinks at their shops. I like their drinks because of their customization options and they don’t add colouring or sugar syrup.

The world’s largest Mala Tang Chain, Yang Guo Fu, opened its first outlet in Singapore in 2020 and currently has 8 outlets in this city state. Newly opened in November 2023, YGF Malatang @ Westgate is the 8th Yang Guo Fu Malatang outlet in Singapore. Mala Tang is a popular street food in China consisting of a hot and spicy Sichuan soupy dish of meat and vegetables. Each bowl of malatang is different as one can choose his favourite ingredients from more than 60 types of meat, seafood, vegetables, noodles etc on top of the different levels of spiciness. YGF offers malatang in three styles: Spicy Mala Beef Broth, Tomato Broth, or Mala Ban (dry). Tomato broth is suitable for children as it is not spicy.

Can lah! Let’s go Christmas party la! This location is on the outdoor shopping area of Westgate shopping center. You can find it along the way out towards the MRT station, but you must use the ground floor. Over here, you can see the Christmas decoration is designed with Disney Pixar characters and the theme is animation. These Pixar characters are totally different from the usual Disney characters. The racing car decoration goes by the name of Lightning McQueen who loves to race by trying to race faster all the time. Yes, he is a racing car and he talks. He is also modelled after a real car Chevrolet too.

This is a great place to get started on baking which I did during the lockdown period. Now it is going to be the mooncake season and you can get the mooncake mould from Redman too. Over here, you can get professional level of baking tools. They also import quality flour and ingredients so you can re-create your own bake products at home. Sometimes, they also organize baking sessions, and you can join in too. Some of their items are in large packets but it is also ok to request for a small quantity so you only pay accordingly to the total weight.

Even exotic food items also can get here. One example will be this Switzerland best chocolate. These chocolates are handmade with care and quality is guaranteed. There is an outlet at Jewel Changi Airport too. I will buy them as gifts when I am heading overseas. These chocolates come in big blocks, but you can just buy what you need. You can choose between grams or size and the staff will assist you. These chocolates vary from their ingredients so some of them can be quite expensive.

A large chain of supermarket specialise with imported products from the China market. Plus, it is also open 24 hours for selected outlets. I went to their Westgate outlet and it is open 24 hours This is Singapore’s largest Chinese supermarket and you can always get a good deal here.
At Westgate outlet, they even have a roaming robot promoter going around the store to promote drinks. If you wave or stop his way, the robot will stop then you can try out this promoted drinks.
There are also supersized snacks which you can buy and seasonal items. For sure, you can find some never see before food items at Scarlett Supermarket. Do give it a try and you can experience new products.

This Timezone outlet at Westgate was open on Dec 2020. You can get kids bowling alley right here at Timezone located at Westgate. You can use Jurong East MRT as your guide. It is so easy to come here.
The bowling alleys inside Timezone are designed with kids in mind. You just use your Timezone credits to pay for the bowling session. Both adults and kids can have awesome parents-kids bonding time.
The bowling balls are not heavy, just the right weight for kids to choose from and knock the pins down.
There are also plenty of seats for parents but now will have to safe distancing so not many seats are unavailable.
If you go bowling at night, they also have dazzling disco lights for the bowling alleys too.
