Did I die? Chocolate paradise 🍫🍫🍫❤️😋🤤
#timetotravel
I’ve been to Shanghai many times but this time I’ve got a recommendation to visit the Zotter Chocolate Theater, the ticket was 268 and it was WORTH IT!
The tour begins with a movie at the theater about The chocolate making process and where the beans are grown. After you go through a museum like display where you can try the different ingredients of the chocolate. Then you can smell different spices and try to guess what they are.
The next part it’s to try different kinds of base chocolate and to create your own chocolate, after you can try A LOT of different chocolate, from 100% cocoa to chili, popcorn and cola, strawberry, pumpkin seeds… anything you can imagine. then chocolate milks well! I’m glad I didn’t have lunch before coming.
The shopping mall and the pier around made it worth the trip.

Zotter’s Chocolate Factory
Zotter’s is an Austrian owned chocolate company, created by Josef Zotter and his family. It is still a family ran business and the Shanghai factory is often where Josef’s eldest daughter Julia will be found.
For 90RMB, you can explore and taste the wonderful creations this family have made including watching the video of how it came to be.
At the end, you can purchase multiple flavours of their chocolate within the shop. There is also a cafe in the factory, where you can enjoy a lunch or try even more chocolate related products.

CHOCOLATE-LOVER HEAVEN! All-You-Can-Eat 🍫
If you love chocolate, you’ll love this place!
You’ll learn about different type of beans, processing way, variety of fillings, and best of all, you can taste ALL of their products as much as you can handle! From the bitter 100% raw chocolate until the liquor-infused version. Such a happy place 💗
Tips:
1. Ticket price was cheaper from their official Wechat account (search: Zotter). We bought it at ¥168/person. Better check 1 day in advance for tour availability. English-language factory tour time 14:00 and 16:00 (their published time is 14:30 and 16:30).
2. Not much restaurants inside this area, get your lunch first before coming (but don’t eat too full! You’ll need space for those chocolates!)
3. This chocolate factory is located inside a factory outlet area. Get yourself ready for a shopping spree, too! NIKE & Adidas always have good deals!
Getting There - Take taxi. It’s rather far from Metro Station (nearest one is Line 12 Aiguo Rd : 20mins walk)
Attractions - Chocolate Factory
Hotels - N/A
Food & Restaurants - chocolate, ice cream, coffee
Shopping - more chocolate!!
Vegan-friendliness - YES! Pleasantly surprise to see plenty of vegan chocolate options available 💚

Who is in for some 🍫 ?
🧁 Bring your kids to the Zotter Chocolate theater, or go yourself, it is totally worth it!
🧁 Buying a ticket you are buying yourself a nice journey into the world of sweet dreams. The journey starts in the mini theater, where you learn about cacao beans and where they grow, the whole process of making chocolate.
🧁 Afterwards there is a fun part, you can go and see/touch/smell/try everything you want✌️ The guide is quite friendly and tells a lot of interesting things. When finished with this, it is time to make you own chocolate bar! Chose flavors, shapes adds-on and decoration. The whole process is quite fun. And while you are waiting for your DIY chocolate to set, why not go and try all the chocolate flavours in the product line? Even the chocolate drinks 🥳
So when the tour ends you have:
🤎 A bar of your #diy #chocolate
🤎 A belly full of #candy
🤎 Some knowledge about the process
🤎 Amazing #memories
That was fun experience and we liked it a lot!
Btw tours in English are available too, but you need to call in advance to ask about EN tour timing.
