Youth has no price, cycling straight to Lhasa, it turns out that many people really go to Tibet alone
I come from afar, just for a date with you, Tibet will always be there, but I am only young once, I thought what I dreamed of was true love and freedom. But when I found that it seemed a bit far away to get both at the same time, it's better to pursue freedom this time, and look for true love in the rest of my life.
Crossing 318 | Dreaming back, looking for the secret paradise of the Sichuan-Tibet line
In the circle of self-driving, I dont think there is any road that can match the Sichuan-Tibet line!
Today's Sichuan-Tibet line is not only a road, but also a gateway to the extreme beauty of paradise. Snow mountains, forests, grasslands, glaciers and a number of rivers and rivers, the spectacular scenery along the way makes you dazzle.
[Self-driving route]:
Chengdu--Xinduqiao--Litang--Batang--Zuogong--Basu--Ranwu Lake--Miduo Glacier--Bo Secret--Lulanglinhai--August--Niyang River--Lhasa
[Traffic Guide]:
The most dangerous section of the Sichuan-Tibet line: the most representative is the Sichuan-Tibet line Kang to Bomi section of the road, to pass through one of the three dangers of the Sichuan-Tibet line, the Mount Bashan, the Mount Bashan is built on the mountain, the mountain road is winding, there is no guardrail on the opposite side, you can see the Nujiang under the foot when driving. It will pass through more than 5,000-odd Dongda Mountain and the legendary Tianlu 72 turn; some sections of Sichuan-Tibet will also implement traffic control, and the route needs to be arranged in advance; the rainy season pays attention to natural disasters such as landslides and mudslides, and driving should be cautious.
At the moment I entered the Tibetan area, I went all the way to the highest place. I am glad that my thin body is not high, but my ears are rumbling! Occasionally in a semi-sounding state! But this does not prevent me from going to the most beautiful place in my heart! I shouted at this mountain! I have reached the most beautiful place in Tibet! I don't want anything, I just look at the mountains under this pure sky! This is the life I yearn for!

Self-driving to Tibet | Five things you must know before the 72 turns from Zogang to Nujiang
40-day self-driving travel notes on the Ancient Tea Horse Road
Starting from Zogang County, it is 105 kilometers and 1 hour and 30 minutes away from the famous Yela Mountain Nujiang 72 turns on G318. The road condition of this section of G318 is very good, with picturesque scenery along the way, but there may be a big traffic jam at the 72 turns, so before setting off, look at the five points summarized by Caicaijuaner based on her travel experience to help you get through G318.
❶What places will you pass through in these 105 kilometers?
Starting from Zogang County and driving on G318, you will pass through three towns before reaching Yela Mountain Nujiang 72 turns: Wangda, Tiantuo, and Bangda. After passing Bangda Town, you will immediately start climbing the mountain, and there may be two-way traffic control during road construction. The first checkpoint will also be set up from the place where you start climbing Yela Mountain from Bangda Town. Sometimes traffic control will start at 10 am.
❷When to start crossing the Nujiang 72 turns without traffic jam?
If you want to see the scenery between Zogang County and Nujiang 72 turns, and don't want to encounter traffic control, you need to set off from Zogang County before 7 am, and it is safest to pass the Bangda Town checkpoint before 9 am. Please note: Even if you collect road condition information in advance, there are still many variables in this area. It is recommended to cross the Nujiang 72 turns during the road construction period at the above-mentioned time. If you don't want to stop along the way, please look at the scenery we shot below.
Of course, once the road of the 72 turns is repaired, this situation will automatically be lifted, and you can enjoy the scenery here leisurely.
❸The Jade River that accompanies the whole journey
The Jade River, which flows through Zogang County, accompanies all the way to Bangda Town.
The Jade River is a first-level tributary on the left bank of the middle reaches of the Nujiang River. 'Qu' is Tibetan, meaning river. The Jade River in Zogang County is a very clear river. Its color is neither strong nor gorgeous, it is faintly clear, quietly nourishing this land.
❸There are also racks for drying barley here
The valley nourished by the Jade River is a fertile field. After the harvest season, the racks full of barley become a scene.
Unlike Shangri-La, the barley racks here are not for pleasing, but for life. They may be a bit simple, and they are not always neatly arranged, but they are natural and the finishing touch of this road scenery.
❹Left and right snow mountains 'Dharma Protector'
Looking at the satellite map, you know that this area of G318 is all driving in the valley, with high mountains along the way, and in autumn and winter, there are snow-capped mountains on both sides of the road. From Zogang to Nujiang 72 turns, there are some mountains with perennial snow on the left hand side. The extreme scenery of the Hengduan Mountains continues along this road.
▶️The above content is summarized based on personal travel experience, please forgive me if there are any omissions.
▶️Affected by time, some scenes may change, based on the current situation.
▶️The address location information is provided by the website, please leave a message for more detailed information.
▶️All the scenic spots traveled by Caicaijuaner and Mr. Dog can be reached by car.

If you like self-driving tours and don't take the usual path, please listen to Caicaijuaner's story.

Youth has no price, cycling straight to Lhasa, it turns out that many people really go to Tibet alone
I come from afar, just for a date with you, Tibet will always be there, but I am only young once, I thought what I dreamed of was true love and freedom. Ding Zhen's hometown, the highest city in the world - Litang, is very beautiful
⭐️Today we came to Litang, which is also Ding Zhen's hometown, the highest city in the world! The altitude here exceeds 4000. After a few days of plateau adaptation, there is no obvious altitude sickness, but you must slow down when walking, because walking too fast is still a bit panting.
🗻We considered the altitude problem in Litang and did not stay overnight. We only spent half a day visiting and finally stayed in Yajiang, a low-altitude area, about two and a half hours drive from Litang.
Litang tour route:
✅Qianhu Tibetan Village·Letong Ancient Town: The old town of Litang, I think it is very similar to Barkhor Street in Lhasa. There is a strong commercial atmosphere here, and there are many miniature museums. The flow of people is very large during holidays. The ancient town is beautiful, and it is quite good to take pictures and check in. I saw many young ladies taking portraits in Tibetan costumes. There are rental clothing and photography services outside and inside the ancient town. It is recommended to visit for 1-2 hours.
✅Changqing Chunkeer Temple: This is also called Litang Temple. It is the oldest and largest Tibetan Buddhist Gelug temple in Kang District. If you overlook the panoramic view of Litang, you can drive up from the back mountain road by yourself, which is really convenient without climbing! This is also the sunset viewing point in Litang. There are steps on the way to take pictures, and it is very pictorial to shoot from top to bottom.

Potala Palace - Tibet Autonomous Region
Getting there - Book with a tour group to get to Tibet. We used JoyTravel in China and they were wonderful. :)
Take a moment to stop and catch your breath, the Potala Palace sits at an elevation of 3700 meters about 12,100 feet. We spent time hiking up and through each room. The many rooms of the palace were exquisite and it was such a treat to learn about the history of each location. Photography is not permitted inside, however, this made the experience seem even more special and we were able to take in the sights without any distractions.
