The golden-tone Amber Fort is a prominent representation of the architecture of Raqqaput, formerly home to the city of Jaipur, where the family of King Singh ruled for 800 years. The king ordered the construction in 1592, and the Jay Singh era expanded, and finally moved the capital to Jaipur on the lower mountain plains. There is a higher majestic castle, Jaigarh, above the Amber Fort.
