The French Indian War was a war between Britain and France in North America between 1754 and 1763. In the war, the Indians and the French allied, so it was called the French Indian War. Finally, the British conquered Montreal and won the war. After 19 days of siege, the British occupied the castle in July 1759. After the victory of the American War of Independence in 1783, the castle was assigned to the United States under the Treaty of Paris.
