The park is located in the northeast of Lanzhou City, Gansu Province. It was originally a 18 sand island in the Yellow River. It was named after the early years of the habit of large dragonflies inhabiting it. In 1958, the 20-kilometer Huantan Dam and the asphalt road were built, and three tributaries on the Yellow River Beach were connected to the city. The river beach was built with artificial lakes in the park. It was later built as a Yantan Park and swimming pool, which is one of the tourist attractions in Lanzhou. Yutan Park is a pastoral park known for lakes and water colors, flowers and trees.
