The Ming Dynasty was the only land and water transfer terminal in Kaifeng, so it prospered rapidly. It was one of the four famous towns in the country during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the early years of the Southern Song Dynasty, Yue Fei, the hero of the anti-jin, led the army to defeat Jin Xushu here.
