Reviews: Xi'an "THE GREAT QIN" Stage Show Ticket - An Epic Artistic Feast Featuring the Terracotta Warriors
Guest User2026-02-08
The show is amazing and well worth seeing. Pros and cons: - Pros: It's the longest theater in the world, with its Guinness World Record displayed on a statue outside... so it's a mobile stage, which makes the show incredibly dynamic. It feels too short, it's a feast for the eyes, and the acoustics are excellent. It starts very punctually. Arrive a little over 30 minutes early. - Cons: It's all in Chinese. They provide a translator for a deposit, but it's not worth it because it doesn't translate the simultaneous conversations... it only gives you a few hints in the introduction and at the end... it's not worth getting that device. We left happy, so we highly recommend it. We were assigned fantastic tickets with the C category, so it's not worth paying extra for the B or A categories. They don't allow audio or photo recording, so I can't upload anything.
Reviews: Xi'an Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum (Terracotta Army) + THE GREAT QIN + Chinese/English Guide 1-Day Tour

I joined a private, customized three-day tour with Guangzhilv Qinfeng International Travel Agency. The travel agency arranged the itinerary in advance, saving time and effort. Driver Jing (356) contacted us a day in advance, providing private car pick-up and drop-off. The vehicle was clean, and the driver was very friendly. Tour guide Zhang Hu led us to visit the Xi'an City Wall and the Hanguang Gate Site Museum, recommended local delicacies, and we watched the awe-inspiring Qin Dynasty drama and the legend of the camel bells, as well as the most beautiful and poignant song and dance drama in Xi'an, "The Song of Everlasting Regret," adapted from historical events. We also visited the Terracotta Army, the eighth wonder of the world, the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor and its burial pits, the Bronze Chariot and Horse Museum, and the 50th anniversary exhibition of the discovery of the Terracotta Army. Tour guide Zhang Hu's explanations were insightful, vivid, and profound, making the content easy to understand. The Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor is grand in scale, rich in burial contents, and the Terracotta Army's orderly and awe-inspiring formations are truly impressive! They highly recreate the scenes of chariots, infantry, cavalry, crossbowmen, and other military units fighting together two thousand years ago! We had lunch in the hometown of the Terracotta Army, an immersive experience at Da Qin Xiao Yan, China's first Qin culture experience site, where we learned about Qin culture and the lifestyle of the pre-Qin people. Many thanks to the travel agency staff, driver, and tour guide for their hard work and explanations.

DO: Get tickets for the Camel Bell show.  It's the best live show I've seen in China so far. DON'T: Get tickets for the optional "An Army Reborn" show.  Not worth the money, trust me. The tour guide, Star, was very informative and communicated clearly.  Tour was well organized, never rushed or boring.  By far one of the best day tours you can do if you want to learn the history of these two locations.  Both locations are mostly open-air, so make sure to dress for the weather and prepare for a reasonable amount of walking.

This half-day tour of the Terracotta Warriors was fantastic overall, a fulfilling and comfortable experience. Special praise goes to our guide, Ms. Xing Yajuan; she was incredibly thoughtful, professional, meticulous, and patient. Originally scheduled for 9:30 to 11:30, she led us for a full three hours, without any rush. She also made sure to check on everyone's needs, such as photo opportunities, restroom breaks, souvenir purchases, and whether we were pressed for time. Knowing that many of us dislike crowds, she would deliberately take us to less congested areas for explanations, making the experience clearer and more enjoyable. Ms. Xing has an exceptional understanding of the details of the terracotta warriors, explaining everything from clothing, hairstyles, and expressions to weapons and formations in a vivid and insightful way. I learned a great deal and gained a deeper appreciation for the awe-inspiring nature of the Terracotta Warriors. I highly recommend Ms. Xing Yajuan; she is one of the best and most dedicated guides I've ever encountered on any tour.
