Chen Clan Ancestral Hall Folk Crafts Museum
Your friendly local guide and driver will meet you at your Guangzhou hotel, depending on the departure option you booked. Once you meet, spend a few minutes talking with your guide about the places you'd like to visit. Below is a sample itinerary, which is fully customizable for your private trip. Please let your guide know if any adjustments are needed. Start by visiting the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall/Zong Ancestral Hall. This is one of the most majestic architectural structures of the Qing Dynasty, featuring meticulously crafted wood, brick, stone, clay, and ivory carvings, as well as some of the oldest and rarest collections of silk embroidery, ceramics, and paintings. This is a great window into the culture, history, and customs of Lingnan.
Yuexiu Park
Adjacent to Yuexiu Park, the largest park in Guangzhou, it features lush greenery and historical relics. Take a leisurely stroll through the park and see the Five Rams Stone Statue (a symbol of Guangzhou), the ancient Ming Dynasty city wall, and the Sun Yat-sen Monument. Experience the splendor of a park in southern China and the lives of local people.
Former Han Dynasty Museum, Nanyue King's Mausoleum
Known as the Nanyue King Museum of the Western Han Dynasty, it is a must-visit place to learn about the fascinating ancient history rooted in Guangzhou. The museum is home to the 2,000-year-old mausoleum of Nanyue King Zhao Mo (reigned from 137 BC to 122 BC) in Guangzhou, and displays the mausoleum and its complete cultural relics, allowing visitors to experience the city's great history and culture under the guidance of a guide.
Sand Face Island
Continuing our tour of Shamian Island, literally meaning "Shamian Island", once known as the former British and French Concession and a historically prosperous foreign trade center, the colonial-era Western-style mansions and buildings are still well restored, and it was one of the most stylish areas along the Pearl River and White Goose Pond.
The Guangzhou Tower
Follow your guide around the spectacular New Guangzhou, admiring 21st-century skyscrapers such as the "Canton Tower," the International Finance Center Building, the Guangzhou Opera House, the Guangdong Museum, and Flower City Plaza. Weather permitting, you may also ascend to the 433-meter observation deck of the Canton Tower for views of the city.
If you visit the above attractions, feel free to move on to other attractions at any time: 1) Temples: Six Bayan Tree Temple, Guangxiao Temple; 2) Museums: Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Guangdong Museum, Beer Museum, etc.; 3) Shopping Streets: Beijing Road, Upper and Lower Nine Pedestrian Streets, or any specific wholesale market; 4) Lychee Bay Scenic Area; 5) Pearl River Night Journey. Along the way, you can enjoy a delicious Cantonese lunch or dinner, candy, and other popular local foods to suit your taste. At the end of your fun-filled day, you'll be returned to your hotel in the city or another area of Guangzhou, as desired.
