We went north up to the mountains. Kazbegi is a very popular place with locals when they want to excape the summer heat. The drive was very scenic and didn't seem to be that long. I see other reviews complain about the drive but the roads are good and you pass a variety of mountain valleys and green hills, it was a very nice ride.
Lika was my guide and did a great job of explaining everything. She also had a lot of local insights into the area and was good company. This is a great day trip out of Tbilisi and well worth investing a day from your intinerary to see this part of the country.β

Best tour ever! And best tour guide!
All the stops were beautiful and amazing. I was able to capture beautiful photos. I was also very lucky to go on a clear sunny day; the weather was perfect.
My tour guide, Giorgi, only made the trip better. Heβs a cool guy. I loved my experience this day and really hope I can go back. Highly recommendedβ

The trip was fantastic! Beautiful views, a great atmosphere, and very well organized. The guide, Kura, was fantastic! Talkative, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable and energetic π He made the entire trip even more interesting. The mountains were truly impressive. The only downside was the inability to get to Kazbegi, but that was obviously due to the weather and not the organizers' fault. Regardless, the trip was a great success and definitely worth recommending!β

The places seen on the tour were just as described in the tour description. We saw everything and it was all beautiful!! The bus was very comfortable. The tour lasted from 9am-8pm so plan for a full day. Bring enough cash (20 GEL) for the extra ride to the Gergeti Trinity Church since it is totally worth it! Also bring cash for the lunch and any snacks along the way (20-50 GEL). Only complaint was lunch was at the Best Western in Gudauri. While the food itself was not bad, travelers from the US at least donβt typically want to go to a hotel chain for a meal on a special tour. Otherwise loved it. Especially for how affordable the tour is.β
