Since I had come all the way there, I decided to go up to the rooftop terrace. As you'd expect from Milan's biggest tourist spot, there were a lot of tourists. There were many areas under construction, but the view was great. When I came down from the rooftop terrace, I was suddenly engulfed in the solemn atmosphere of the interior. I'm not a Christian, but the atmosphere of the mass was so pleasant that I spent nearly an hour listening to it.★

Our guide Barbara was wonderful and I highly recommend this tour. Barbara has excellent knowledge of the history and architecture of The Duomo. The tour included a rooftop walk of the building which provided close up detsils of the gothic architecture and wonderful views of Milan. A must do!
