We drove a long distance on the highway to Meteora. The local guide provided good explanations, and visiting each monastery was enjoyable. It is a place where you need to carefully consider the distance and time before visiting. While the scenery and the monastery visits were good, I consider the 5-euro entrance fee for each monastery, and even the 1-euro charge for the restrooms, to be a rip-off for tourists.

Overall it is definitely not cheap, but you can travel on trains around Europe as many times as you want during the period, flexible and convenient, especially for last minute travelers. Keep in mind in countries like Spain, Italy and France, the reservation fee is expensive and can add up quickly, so you need to plan ahead. Also, in most countries, the app cannot be used in the tickets gates automatically, and must seek help from staff. Hope they can improve it.

This trip was absolutely fantastic. Our guide, Lyna, was so educated and knowledgeable about the monasteries, and took the time to answer all of our questions in depth. Our driver was also fantastic, pointing out extra random spots for us to stop and take photos/explore a little. We had a little bit of issues with our transportation but they were communicative and we made it work!

Perfect organization. We really appreciated the frequent stops, which allowed us to take photos and admire the scenery. Only one negative point: as French people, we felt a little neglected!

The person who guided us before we boarded the bus was very polite, and we didn't have a single unpleasant experience after boarding. The tour guide was also very kind. However, their accent was quite strong, and their English was not easy to understand. Nevertheless, the guide was smiling and charming throughout, so it was all good.


