Reviews: From Rome: Pompeii Ruins Tour with Expert Guide & Fast Train
Guest User2025-12-21
Highly, highly recommend this tour!!! First of all, Pompeii is the coolest. I could have spent days there, but as I only had the one day this was PERFECT. It starts with a guided tour so you actually know what you’re looking at, and then you have some free time to check out a few more sites and just bask in the coolness of the place. Perfect! (You’ll want the guided tour, the place is very cool but very poorly marked.) Second, the inStazione staff was amazing! Staff members met us at each train station to make sure we got on the right trains and all the way to the tour guide. When our return train unfortunately got delayed, they were great. They have a comfy little office area for us to wait in, and the girl in the office tried to get us switched to an earlier train. (The station master ended up being stingy, but she really tried and we got on the train shortly after. Really wish I could remember her name to give her a shoutout.)
Reviews: From Rome: Pompeii and Herculaneum by High-Speed Train

We parents & 3 teens went on this tour with Michael as our guide. It was pricey for 5 people but worth every penny. Michael was absolutely awesome, his English was easy to understand, & he never spent too long in one place talking but he gave loads of information so that we all felt we understood what we were seeing. 2 hours at Pompeii flew by. His archaeologist experience is why we chose this tour & we weren’t disappointed. My teen daughter said “he gets an 11/10” because he explained not just what we saw but how archaeologists knew things about life in Pompeii & Herculaneum & what happened in the eruption of Vesuvius. It was raining for the afternoon tour to Herculaneum but Michael didn’t short the tour at all. We went throughout the whole cities with umbrellas & could hear him fine because of his mike and earbuds. 1000% recommend this tour. Best one of our trip to Italy.
Reviews: Rome to Pompeii Guided Tour with Wine & Lunch by High Speed Train

This was a perfect month to go, weather was nice and not too hot. We done a lot of walking, it was a gentle pace and very easy going. Our guide was fantastic, knew her history and answered many questions asked of her from our group. It was easy to find everything, the instructions were very clear. The groups are around 12 or 15 people which was lovely, it felt personal. We all had lunch together with the wine tasting and met some lovely people. I would highly recommend this tour, its well worth the money and the experience was amazing, actually walking around such a historical place.
