Bold, athletic, and full of spirit, Georgian dance is a powerful expression of the country’s identity. Rooted in centuries of history, each region has its own style - some fierce and fast, others graceful and flowing - all telling stories of love, war, nature, and tradition. In this workshop, you’ll meet Salome, a professional dancer and passionate teacher, who will introduce you to several tradi- tional Georgian dances, includ- ing Shalakho, Adjaruli, and Ratchuli. You’ll choose the one that speaks to you most, and with her guidance, refine your movements and immerse your- self in a deeply cherished aspect of Georgia's rich cultural heritage. You will be welcomed Salome, a passionate, young choreographer from Tbilisi who dedicates her time to preserving and teaching traditional Georgian dance. Having danced since the age of eight, Salome drew inspiration from her father, who was a former national troupe dancer. For years, she and her husband have instructed hundreds of students at the Mukhrani Culture House, nurturing their love for Georgian dance through their troupe, Skhieri—named after a secred shrine in Racha.
