Great, I was wondering whether to pay more when I could organize it myself. No way. I can't get to a great restaurant with fish soup on my own, I can't learn what I learned on my own, and I can't motivate myself to do so (...)

We had a great day with Mauro from tours on wheels! He is from Sintra and knows a lot about the area. The communication was great. Throughout the tour we saw a lot of highlights in one day. The lunch in a local restaurant was very good with tasty local dishes. Thank you for a lovely day, we highly recomment Tours on wheels!

Our guide Matt was extremely well informed on the history of the sites, and an interesting guy as well. Our weather was rainy with heavy fog which limited our viewing pleasure, but Matt kept us positive. There is a lot of uphill walking in this day. My health app noted I walked over 17,600 steps and climbed an equivalent of 57 floors, so be prepared for a real workout and dress for total comfort. The sites are amazing though. At least it wasn’t crowded!

Everything went perfectly. Ines is a force of nature. Knowledgeable, very friendly, and punctual. The tour was conducted in a small group, in a van, and felt very intimate, like being with family (there were 2 of us, plus a lovely family of 5, and the guide). We made many stops without rushing and had time to fully enjoy it. The tour was well-planned, and Ines was always smiling. She speaks perfect English, making it easy to understand, even for those who struggle with the language. We highly recommend it!

The day starts early (8:00 a.m.) in Rossario Square, followed by about an hour's drive to the Pena Palace (outside of palace is beautiful, but make sure you also include the interior guided tour). Beautiful, well preserved interiors. Some stairs inside, but easy to navigate. Then off to Regaleira (quite a bit of walking in the gardens here). High lite was stroll through the manmade caverns and the well (lots of stairs here to descend the well to the bottom and the caverns - you don't exit the same way - no stairs to exit). Cabo da Roca had great views of the ocean, which at times can be very rough, creating incredible waves crashing on the sea cliffs. Our day was incredibly winding, making vertical walking almost impossible, but still an experience. Lastly, Cascais was just a drive-by, drive-through visit on the return to Lisbon.

A wonderful excursion outside the city during my visit to Lisbon. It was very intense, but worth it. We had the opportunity to see the most important attractions around the Portuguese capital in one day: Cascais, Cabo da Roca, Sintra, Regaleira, and Pena. Each place was truly worth seeing. A very kind and helpful guide (Carlos), and a comfortable bus. We had a wonderful time.
