Reviews: Private Tour: Giant's Causeway, Norman Castles, and Game of Thrones Film Locations

When Martin arrived at the hotel in the morning, he asked us what we wanted to see. We told him to show us things that he liked. He proceeded to teach us more history in the next few hours than we had learned in all of our family history research. Although the Giants’ Causeway was a long drive away, Martin found the time to bring us by the Troubles wall and inform us on the tensions that continue today. Every stop along the way, he lifted me out of the van and secured me in my wheelchair. He helped me push along steep paths to awesome viewing spots. He even bought the three of us ice cream from a local dairy. Absolutely top class guy 👏

Our private tour with Barry was truly engaging, educational, and informative. The planned stops were amazing, showcasing the stunning landscapes and views of Northern Ireland. Barry was entertaining and kept us laughing throughout. He shared fascinating history about the area and even made a special stop at Dunluce Castle instead of just passing by.

Our family is on a British Isles cruise and stopped in Belfast yesterday. Lisa from CitySightSeeing was easy to find, standing right outside of the gift shop at the pier. The coach was comfortable and our driver Joe expeditiously drove us up the freeway in order to beat most of the crowds at Dunluce Castle and Giant’s Causeway. Lisa was a well spoken and very knowledgeable guide who kept us entertained throughout our time in the coach. We learned a lot about the people, history, and folklore of Northern Ireland. We had enough time to walk down the entire path at Giant’s Causeway and take pictures but not a lot more. This was fine because we had so much more to see. If you haven’t been to Giant’s Causeway, it is a must see because of its beauty and uniqueness. On the way back, Joe drove us down the scenic coast. We stopped for a view of the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge. Sadly, we were not able to walk across the bridge because while it was closed during Covid, it was discovered that the coaches were damaging the natural flora so they are now prohibited. The view was pretty though. We stopped in a very cute small town for lunch at a pub called Harry’s. The upstairs was mostly reserved for our group and we had a limited menu of five or six entrees so they could serve us quickly. The food was adequate. Nothing to write home about but perfectly acceptable. We made one more stop off for pictures of Carrickfergus Castle before heading to Belfast for a historical commentary and viewing of the various murals. At our tour’s conclusion we were dropped off quite close to our ship with plenty of time to spare. Overall this was an amazing tour at a fraction of the price of going through the cruise ship. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone coming to Belfast via cruise ship. You won’t be disappointed.

Thoroughly enjoyed it! Definitely worth the money and actually worked out great. 10/10 recommend. We had Daithi (David) and JP as our tour guide and driver, respectively. They were both fantastic. Daithi was a lovely tour guide who gave not only great information about the sights we were seeing but also seemed to really enjoy giving us his own personal anecdotes which were fantastic and my favourite bit. I felt like he gave us a wholistic overview of Ireland through his anecdotes and information which I really appreciated. He also was funny, had good taste in music and a great microphone voice which always helps. We did the Black taxi tour in Belfast and that was SUPERB. It was so interesting, educational, honest, authentic, raw and emotive. ‘Pat with the Hat’ was a phenomenal tour guide who was willing to share so much! We were so grateful to him for his tour and had an absolute blast. He was lovely and warm and welcoming and gave us a very wholistic view of the troubles.

We met with Ricky today and our tour was absolutely amazing! Not only did he educate us with the ways of Northern Ireland, but he spoke from experience. We thought we knew some of the history... but boy were we wrong. This tour is sad and beautiful all at the same time.

Excellent tour! Dan is a knowledgeable, nonpartisan guide, giving a personal insight into the troubles and the ongoing challenges still facing the two communities today.
