We had a great time on this excellent tour and we learned a lot. We were particularly impressed by our guide, Paulo, who responded to all questions, gave us an in-depth description of life in Pompeii & Herculaneum, and enlivened our experience with his enthusiasm.

The site is well-preserved and the visits are enriching. The French audio guide needs improvement; there are occasional confusions between right and left. The audio guide wasn't up-to-date regarding which areas were open. While I understand it's difficult to be completely up-to-date, it would be helpful to warn visitors that some explanations might not be understood if they aren't visible. Otherwise, it's exceptional.

I was pleased to see that the pick up was on time and the various groups/toyrs were clearly separated at the meeting point. The guide was speaking very good English and his explanations made the bus ride to the volcano entertaining and informative. The hike up to the crater and the meeting spot for the geologist guide took me less than 15min but I saw many struggling and taking longer due to age, heat or physical unfitness. The geologist was very knowledgeable and tge views from the different corners of the crater were impressive. I found the tour very efficient and interesting

Luciano Leine was a fantastic guide. He pointed out many details that I otherwise wouldn't have noticed. It wouldn't have been the same great experience on my own or with just an audio guide.


