Our tour guide was very informative and also conscious of the fact it was very hot ( this tour was done first week in August). He was able to tell us about the history of Pompeii and Herculaneum and was able to answer any question that was put to him. The description of the tour on the app is exactly what happened. No hidden surprises.

An interesting excursion, certainly from a historical perspective, but there are larger volcanoes, just in case. The climb, the view, and the return are relatively quick and not too tiring. The crater is smoking; it's a shame I can't post a video!

Rafael was a fantastic tour guide, we absolutely loved our tour. He made it very interesting and funny and was happy to answer any questions we might have had. We really enjoyed it, we definitely want to come back once the weather is not so hot! Pompeii is huge and we feel we saw only a small portion of it, which is understandable with a group tour and 40C heat.

Everything was very well organized. The bus journey on these narrow roads can be a little daunting at times, but the experienced drivers handle it expertly. Just be sure to wear good shoes and bring something to drink.
