Like other Have Fun passes, this is a good way to save money if you choose your seats wisely. However, the price is a bit steep. There are literally five seats available out of the available ones.

It's very convenient; be sure to buy and exchange it at Odawara Station. With this pass, you'll have virtually no expenses along the route. From Odawara, take two trains to Gora Station. Then from there, take the funicular, then the cable car, then a boat, and then a bus back to Gora. Don't worry about the number of transfers; this is the most interesting part of the onsen journey.

This is a very convenient one-day pass. It covers transportation from Tokyo to Mount Takao, including the cable car and hot springs. It's very easy to use and I recommend buying it.
