Reviews: one-day tour of Halong Bay from Hanoi [20-year fleet + luxury cruise + Kayaking+ seafood buffet meal]

It was a very good trip. There was a car for round-trip transportation, and the tour guide was there for the entire day. The bus ride from Hanoi's Old Quarter to Halong Bay took about three hours. I rarely sit in the back seat, but it was surprisingly comfortable. Along the way, I was able to see exotic scenery, and Halong Bay was also quite beautiful. It's just that after seeing so many mountains and rivers in China, I didn't find it as stunning. However, the cruise experience was very good. There was a bathing pool on the top deck, so if you have children, bring your swimsuits. It was a very enjoyable day! The tour guide spoke English, and some of the boat staff spoke Chinese! Highly recommended!

My wife and I did the evening motorbike tour with Backstreet Tours and it was very very cool. Having done a food tour on the back of scooters in Ho Chi Minh City, we thought we knew what the vibe would be, but this totally exceeded all expectations. It really is the backstreet tour, and I spent a lot of it thinking “we never would have found this place on our own and I’m glad we’re here”. We learnt a lot about the city from our guides Jelly and Snow. They were informative, friendly, and took a lot of photographs for us. We visited the less touristy part of train street and actually got to see the train pass twice - once in each direction! A highlight of the tour was ending at the Hidden Gem restaurant - super “instagrammable” with a big emphasis on upcycling and taking care of the environment, we had a great light meal at this lovely restaurant. The coffee - made by jelly - was also really really good. Overall, the service was professional, but also deeply personal and made me feel
