Our Mauna Kea summit and stargazing experience was truly unforgettable. Our driver, Bean, was punctual, kind, and very welcoming at the meeting point in Kona. During the comfortable mini bus ride, he shared interesting stories about the region, explaining the local geology, plants, and animals, which made the journey even more special. At the next vehicle, John, our guide for the ascent, impressed us with his deep knowledge of Mauna Kea, the volcanoes, and the different types of volcanic rocks. He also explained the giant telescopes at the summit, but the real highlight was the stargazing. The astronomy explanation felt like a true lesson under the stars — fascinating and easy to understand. Delicious snacks, hot chocolate, warm jackets, and gloves were provided, making the experience very comfortable. It was a magical night, and my boyfriend and I would absolutely do it again without hesitation.

Our guide, Tory was amazing. Besides being so sweet, she was extremely knowledgable on Hawaiian culture, agriculture and volcanology. She made sure we were comfortable and she knew exactly where to take us to see the volcano which was erupting while we were there. I loved the fact that on this tour, you were able to see the island and volcano during the day and at night.

The absolute best tour. Chris was the best tour guide I ever had. We started the day as strangers and left feeling like family! The views were amazing and he was so nice and knowledgeable!
