Everything about the trip was wonderful. The driver and car were great and Lia was so knowledgeable about the history of Nanjing and about Buddhism and she was also so warm and friendly. The palace was just incredible, on a scale and with an opulence that’s pretty astounding, but I almost preferred the Ch’an garden and quiet temple that Lia took me to afterwards. Definitely recommend.

The stone slide in front of the Lingxing Gate at Chaotian Palace is a memory shared by generations of Nanjing residents. When you look down upon Chaotian Palace, the ancient and classical architectural complex from the Ming and Qing dynasties blends with the shadows of trees. The red walls, yellow tiles, green roofs, and towering palace walls stand in stark contrast to the modern skyscrapers, creating a time-traveling experience in Nanjing.

Sunny organised a lovely tour for us. Lillian the guide we had for the day was brilliant. She spoke clear English and was very knowledgeable of the sights we visited. She was waiting for us in the foyer way before our meeting time and took us back to the hotel at the end of the day where she went out of her way to find a good local restaurant for us. Lillian’s knowledge of the sights was an advantage as we did not really know much of the history. She managed to get us into the mausoleum which was fully booked. I definitely would recommend using Sunny and Lillian for a Nanjing tour.

Took this tour solo and it was great. John was a friendly and knowledgeable guide, clearly experienced and professional. He definitely enhanced my experience of the four scenic sites we visited. Lunch at a local Chinese restaurant did not disappoint. Glad I booked the tour, highly recommended.


