It's very practical, but it's a bit of a loss if the railway is operating in winter. Hokkaido has beautiful scenery, but train tickets are too expensive. Using this is more cost-effective if you're visiting multiple places. However, if there's a blizzard and the railway stops, there are no refunds.

This time I bought bus tickets to go to Niseko Ski Resort in Sapporo. The meeting point was inside the hotel, and we departed very punctually. There was a rest stop along the way where we could use the restroom.
