I went hiking on a Saturday, a non-holiday, with my child. I thought it would be less crowded, but there were just as many people. After Zhongtianmen, the crowds were immense, and the 18 bends were incredibly slow; we couldn't keep to our own pace and were just following behind everyone else.
The worst part was the Jade Emperor Peak and Tianjie area – it was packed with people, almost like National Day. I wanted to take photos at the Jade Emperor Peak or the Five Sacred Mountains Stone, but it was impossible to squeeze in. I wanted to visit the Bixia Temple to worship the Goddess of Mount Tai, but the courtyard was packed, and there was a queue of over ten minutes just to kneel and pray. In the end, I was in a rush and didn't even get to queue. We just wandered around for a bit and left; the experience was terrible.
