The ancient city of Qizhou was first built in the fourth year of Jingding in the Southern Song Dynasty (1263). It was a prefecture, state, politics, economy and culture. Relying on the Yangtze River water transportation during the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, Zhu Zhanji, the son of Ming Renzong, established the Jingwang Mansion here. The "Qizhou Chronicle" of Ming Jiajing records: "The city is nine li and thirty-three steps around, one thousand one hundred and thirty feet, one foot and eighteen feet high, with six city gates and nine hundred and ninety window lattices on the city." It is the largest city in eastern Hubei, with beautiful scenery. There are eight scenes of Qiyang in Ming Dynasty and ten scenes of Qiyang in Qing Dynasty. In history, there are ninety-nine memorial archways and ninety-nine temples. Buddhism and Taoism are prevalent, and the ancient city is full of charm!
