Xiqiao Mountain Scenic Area is located in the heart of the Pearl River Delta. It is an ancient volcano that lay dormant for tens of millions of years, with its main peak standing over 300 m above sea level. It is often said that "a trip to Lingnan is incomplete without visiting Xiqiao Mountain." As early as over 6,000 years ago, ancient inhabitants quarried stone here to make tools. Archaeologists have ranked this site alongside the Shanxi Emakou site as one of China's two major Neolithic stone tool workshops in the north and south. Thus, Xiqiao Mountain is hailed as the "beacon of Pearl River civilization." During the Ming Dynasty, Confucian scholars such as Zhan Ruoshui and Fang Xianfu established academies here to teach, earning it the title of "renowned mountain of Neo-Confucianism." The layering of prehistoric ruins, ancient quarrying sites, and historical academy relics within a single mountain is a rare cultural depth among Lingnan's famous peaks. The main views along the mountain unfold through peculiar rocks, secluded caves, and mountain lakes. The bronze statue of Guanyin on Daxian Peak stands over 60 m tall, serving as the landmark view of the entire mountain. From the summit, the open vista overlooks vast stretches of mulberry-dyke fishpond landscapes below. Baiyun Cave clusters Ming and Qing dynasty structures like Sanhu Academy, Kuiguang Tower, and Yunquan Immortal Hall alongside cliff carvings. Kang Youwei spent his youth studying here, and the cave's "Thousand-foot waterfall" was listed among the "Eight views of Yangcheng" as early as the Qing dynasty. The ancient quarrying site at Shiyan Rock features deep caverns, with underwater traces of ancestral stone extraction still visible today. Jiulong Rock's massive boulders interconnect through nine passages—bright outside yet dark within—creating a spelunking adventure akin to navigating a spiral shell. Tianhu Lake in the northwest, formed in an ancient volcanic crater, is embraced by emerald peaks on three sides. The best scenic spot in Sihui City is the tree-lined path along the Qishi River. Listening to the sound of the river water hitting the rocks, surrounded by birdsong and fragrant flowers, it is very comfortable. The rocks are truly bizarre and varied. When you reach the Yinlong Waterfall, it is very spectacular, as smooth as silk and gauze, truly a wonder.

This package includes Dinghu Mountain and Qixingyan, which is great value. The attractions are not in the same area, so you need to drive there yourself. The scenery is very nice and there are very few people. There is a big cauldron in Dinghu Mountain where you can throw balls into it to pray for blessings. Many people buy balls and throw them in.

We entered from the South Gate. Although there were many people, it wasn't chaotic at all. The signs were very clear, and the staff were very responsible. It was a very enjoyable trip for the kids; Guangzhou is beautiful and delicious. It was our first time seeing a rhinoceros and our first time riding a cable car—a great experience!

I purchased the 450m platform view. My wife is scared of heights, so we didn't do the 360 ball ride. After going up top and seeing it move very slow and it has secure safety railing, I regret not purchasing that package. It's definitely not scary.

The glass-bottom boat that's popular with online influencers is definitely worth a ride; it's quite fun. The scenic area is rather large, but thankfully there are sightseeing buses available. If you get tired, you can wave and hop on anytime. However, there are no bicycles inside, which is a bit of a shame given how big and beautiful the scenery is. The accessible pathways inside are also quite well done.

The Pearl River Cruise was pretty good. Easy to buy tickets off Trip; buy the tickets, get a QR code within seconds, scan QR code at pier - easy entry. Ship was pretty good. Booked 3rd level seats for the unobstructed views and was pretty surprised that I was booking a table on the 3rd level. That was great as we could sit down if we wanted to. The weather was perfect. No rain, clear skies, a bit of a breeze. It is a great family activity and I would highly recommend it to everyone.
