Things to do in Zhuozhou

This place was way cooler than I expected! As an American I thought it would be like a normal zoo, WRONG! A couple things really shocked me. First, you can feed almost all of the animals which is cute and hilarious. This also allows you to get up pretty close to them, while also keeping them active. Second, you can take a bus through habitats with tigers, bears and wolves! They come right up to the bus, which is so cool to see. Third, they had a time for feeding Siberian tigers which was amazing to see. they have other shows taking place throughout the park as well. Overall, this place was way more than I expected and is definitely worth a visit.

We booked a ticket with a guide for three hours because the normal tickets were sold out, and in the end we were super happy we took it. I think it's much more interesting to go through with a guide. We were there on a very cold, cloudy day — very gray and dark — so I think if we hadn't booked the tour, it would have been very easy to just walk through and be like, "Okay, the buildings are cool," and move on. I would really recommend booking the tour. It was very interesting, and that's why we enjoyed it so much. It was absolutely beautiful — huge and impressive.

张洋导游讲解的非常好！All visitors should book the national Museum of China trip. It is not easy to book on your own, book through Trip.com and have a guide to share the history with you..

We stayed at the Universal Studios Grand Hotel again, taking a relaxed approach, not insisting on checking off all the attractions, and just resting at the hotel when we got tired, which gave us a lot of freedom. Most of the staff were easygoing and down-to-earth, especially the staff at Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness, who were particularly gentle and patient with children, making for a great experience. Unfortunately, some staff at the Minions area were a bit rude and aggressive, which slightly ruined the atmosphere. Overall, the park's scenes are highly realistic, and taking your time exploring makes for a wonderful trip.

Sanyi Palace is perfect for a Three Kingdoms fan like me, as there are many stories about the glorious deeds of Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei in the courtyard; however, the courtyard is densely covered with greenery and has a large number of mosquitoes. If you visit in the summer, be sure to bring mosquito repellent spray and long-sleeved clothing for protection. I got bitten several times during my visit 😂😂😂.

Since I was in Beijing, I had to visit the Great Wall. The scenery there is irreplaceable. Taking the cable car up felt short, but it saved me a lot of energy, allowing me to use it for climbing the Great Wall. 😀 The Great Wall winds its way up and stretches far into the distance, it's truly magnificent. I heard that some sections of the northern route are currently under renovation.

Parking is available at the free parking lot in front of the Gao Family Courtyard; the North Pagoda gate is just over 100 meters away. Buying a combined ticket is the best option, including both the North and South Pagodas and the Gao Family Courtyard. The North Pagoda, one of the Liao Dynasty twin pagodas, is actually called the Yunju Temple Pagoda. The "Twin Pagodas in the Sunny Sky" is one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Zhuozhou. Most pagodas are of odd numbers, but this one is a 6-story, 56-meter-tall stupa. It's actually 7 years younger than the South Pagoda; they're not twins! Unfortunately, climbing the pagoda is no longer allowed.

As the sun sets, I stand opposite the museum and quietly watch the traffic coming and going, which contrasts with the museum's tranquility in the hustle and bustle! It is there calmly, listening to the hustle and bustle and giving people calmness and peace of mind! The sunset is so beautiful!

The main temple is amazing and it’s lovely to walk around the grounds and get space away from the hustle & bustle so make sure to walk around the grounds… but it’s SO busy with people dressed up trying to take photos for their social media, you can barely move! I’d still go back to see the main temple though and the culture is interesting to observe!

During the National Day holiday, Prince Gong's Mansion was packed with people. The mansion covers a considerable area and has many attractions. It's highly recommended to hire a guided tour for a more engaging experience. Official guided tours within the mansion cost 40 yuan per person, with one guide leading a small group of about 10 people. Headphones are provided, ensuring clear audio, and the price is reasonable. Prince Gong's Mansion is very close to Shichahai Park, so you can visit both in the same area. Additionally, the surrounding area includes the former residences of famous figures such as Mei Lanfang and Guo Moruo, and the Huguosi snack shops are also nearby.
