Small interesting museum
Small (free admission) museum of local history, Day we visited very interesting exhibit of Johns Committee, Gainesville MCarthy type committee. Nice staff. Worth a visit..
They have programs highlighting different aspects of our community There is always something new to learn about the place we live. Great place to include when having a class reunion.
Took my husband as a surprise (as most lil boys he loves trains). We saw the train exhibit. It was nicely set up and had a seek & find. Lots of people dressed for the trains. We had a great time
A jewel of a history museum in downtown Gainesville

A good collection of Gainesville history
I stopped by one afternoon while visiting downtown. The Matheson is not very big, but it had interesting displays of old Gainesville.
