Yunnan Art Museum is a non-profit art museum with legal personality open to the public under the leadership of the Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture. Its purpose is to adhere to the party's literary and artistic principles and policies, and to promote national culture. Support art creation activities, activate academic exchanges, and make due contributions to the development of Yunnan's art cause and the construction of socialist spiritual civilization. The main business work is to collect, research, exhibit and popularize art education in various forms of excellent art works in modern Yunnan, and improve the national cultural and artistic accomplishment and spiritual sentiment. It has been 24 years since the establishment of Yunnan Art Museum, and the Yunnan Academy of Fine Arts (including the former Office of Fine Arts and Photography of the Provincial Department of Culture) has successfully hosted more than 20 medium-sized art exhibitions of national events in the past 32 years since its establishment. Through visiting and hosting artists and art professional institutions in the United States, Italy, Japan, Australia, Germany and other countries, it has promoted Yunnan's international and regional exchanges and cooperation in many ways, and the Yunnan School of Painting is well-known all over the world. Over the years, he has won more than 30 national art exhibitions, national printmaking exhibitions, national individual art exhibitions and overseas art awards. The Yunnan Art Museum collects more than 100 outstanding works of modern and contemporary domestic and local painters, more than 100 ancient murals (copies) of ethnic minorities in Yunnan, more than 300 pieces of silver ornaments of ethnic minorities in Yunnan, and more than 100 pieces of handicrafts of ethnic minorities in Yunnan. There are 120 excellent out-of-print woodcut paintings in Yunnan.
