    Ieyasu’s mausoleum

There are too many valuable things in Nikko, but what you cannot miss is Toshogu, and its highlights are Yomeimon Gate and Okumiya. This is the bottom part of the shrine, and once only Shogun was allo...

It is the Shogun Tokugawa Iemitsu mausoleum, you have to climb a lot of stairs from where you have a good view.

    Tomb of Ieyasu Tokugawa

    Original Text

Before I came here, I saw the tomb of the Tokugawa family at Zojoji Temple, so Ieyasu's tomb was made larger and more luxurious than other shogun's tombs, and it was a tomb that showed Ieyasu's greatness.

Climb the 207 steps to reach the tomb where Ieyasu Tokugawa sleeps. The surroundings were surrounded by cedars and the air was good. There is also a sacred tree, so I think it's worth climbing.

There is a treasure pagoda in which Ieyasu Tokugawa sleeps.

    Original Text

After climbing about 100 steps from the Sakashita Gate (there is a sleeping cat at the entrance) in Nikko Toshogu, you will arrive at Okumiya. There was the Okusha Hall of worship and the Okusha Hoto where Ieyasu Tokugawa sleeps. Unlike the gorgeous Yomei Gate and Kara Gate in Sakashita, it had a calm atmosphere like a shrine. Climbing the stairs is a little tiring, but it's worth seeing.
