Obama remains the remains of the castle town, Obama Castle. It was the ruins of the Sakai family's residence, and now only the stone walls of the castle are left. Obama Shrine dedicated to Tadakatsu Sakai, the founder of the Obama clan, is located on the ruins of the castle. It's not that big, but the stone walls and stairs remind you of the old days.
A coastal castle facing the sea and river. It seems that there used to be a three-story castle tower, but now only the stone wall of the former main enclosure remains. Even so, the stone walls of the remains of the main enclosure still remain almost today, and the stone walls that are woven between old and new are quite spectacular.
Is there a castle in such a place? If you don't set it as a goal, it feels like you will overlook it first. Only the stone wall remains. There is no big sign. Obama Shrine is here, so you can park in the shrine parking lot and go around, but it's over soon. There is nothing to remember the castle. The stone walls around leave a beautiful shape. It is thought that few tourists come and few people know.
Keicho 6 Year (1601 Year), Takatsugu Kyogoku built a sea castle in the land of Unhama, where the Kitagawa and Minami Rivers merge. After that, it continued as the residence of the Sakai family until the Meiji era. At present, there is nothing to remind you of the past just by leaving only the stone wall.
