Mitre Peak, translated into: Mitre Peak, Metre Peak, Matthew Peak; Directly translated as: Bishop Faguan Peak, named for the view from the south side of the mountain, the shape of the mountain is similar to the Bishop Faguan. Mitre Peak is located at the southern end of Milford Fjord, directly opposite the cruise ship terminal. The peak is 1692 meters above sea level, the highest of the peaks on both sides of the fjord. The mountain rises directly from the sea to the blue sky, and it becomes the symbol of Milford fjord with its steep rock walls and isoluminous triangles. It is also a business card for New Zealand tourism. Tip: The trail that connects the cruise terminal and the dock parking lot is the best location to watch and punch the Kamit Peak.
