All facilities on the island were closed, but only the folk art museum was open. As the sign of the "Taketomi Town Textile Business Cooperative" was erected, it was a facility mainly exhibited in textiles.

A facility where you can visit and experience weaving cloth

    Original Text

A facility of the Taketomi Town Textile Business Cooperative. Introducing traditional textiles on the island. It is a facility where you can exhibit explanations of the process from dyeing to weaving, tours of weaving cloth, and experience weaving. I didn't have time, so I only had to easily visit the exhibition and didn't experience it.

Free tour is possible. The hall exhibited Minsa weaving, a traditional island craft, and traditional island textiles. There was no commentator at the time of the visit, and I just saw it. Moreover, the weaving did not seem to be a demonstration, and there was a person who was weaving the machine.

A place to introduce the exhibition of Yaeyama Mincer opposite Semochi Utaki. Admission is free and tours are free. The history and patterns of Yaeyama Mincer are exhibited. It means that weaving demonstrations are also being performed, but it was working in the space in the back, and it didn't feel like a demonstration.
