Tucked away in the mountains of Huamachong Town, Chenxi County, Huaihua, lies a natural underground wonder—Yanzi Cave. It is a typical karst landform, located over 50 km from downtown Huaihua. It is a well-known provincial scenic spot and a popular destination for tourists looking to escape the heat and explore caves. The entire scenic area covers over 30 square kilometers and includes not only the cave but also attractions like Yixiantian (A Glimpse of the Sky), the High Gorge and Flat Lake, and Yishen Garden. It blends mountains, water, caves, and forests, offering both grandeur and tranquility. The core Yanzi Cave has 9 levels, with a total trail length of over 4,800 meters, 8 major cave halls, and hundreds of scenic spots. Spectacular Resort with Excellent Service and Immaculate Pools
We stayed at the Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort, Spa & Casino - All Inclusive from August 22 to August 26. The property was stunning, exceptionally well maintained, and incredibly comfortable. Every staff member we met was professional, polite, and welcoming. The buffet—Atlantíco—offered some of the best food I've ever had at a buffet, with amazing selections. The à la carte restaurants were equally impressive. The pool area was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. As an early riser, I had a view of the pool area and witnessed firsthand how early the staff got up to clean the sizable pools. Staff members were constantly ensuring that the pools and seating areas were properly cleaned and arranged. The only small letdown was the seaweed in the ocean, which made it difficult to swim. Though staff worked diligently each morning to remove as much seaweed as possible, it was impossible to clear it all—likely due to the season. That said, while the beach wasn’t ideal for swimming, the pool was absolutely perfect!

Hunan Bamianshan: Sleep in a dream with the sea of clouds and starry sky for 3 days
Only when you drive up the hairpin turns of Bamianshan do you truly understand the power of the "Ridge of Western Hunan" — 1.5 hours of winding mountain roads that make you dizzy, but once you reach the 1400-meter plateau, you are instantly stunned by the "sky prairie" before your eyes: green grass stretching to the horizon, cattle and sheep scattered all over the hills. Shen Congwen’s description of a "different country" really wasn’t an exaggeration. Choosing the right mountain top guesthouse is key! Open the window to see the sea of clouds rolling by, awakened by the light at 5 a.m., the mist flows swiftly beneath your feet. No wonder this place is called the "oasis suspended in the air." Change into your sneakers and head to Swallow Cave, where four cave entrances are hidden in the greenery on the cliff. Inside the cave are kilns where bandits once made gunpowder. If you come to Pushi Ancient Town, you must visit Pushi Zui Inn. Even if you don't stay at the inn, you should have a meal here, try the delicious river fish, and taste the homemade Tujia bacon. The spacious and bright restaurant 🍴 can host banquets, the outdoor lawn can host weddings 🎎, and the homemade dragon boat can host long table banquets. It's truly unique! The "Pushi Zui" inscription in front of the gate 🚪 is a map of the streets of Pushi Ancient Town.

The park is great! Well maintained and a beautiful place to see nature. I would say, your experience will vary with the weather. For me, it was really foggy and nothing was visible at the top... but still I was able to enjoy the lower area. I think there is beauty in seeing the park with the fog. Many tourists were complaining a lot about not being able to the view from the top. But I think any experience has its great points... you have to adapt to the weather after all.

Orange Island is a bit of a mixed experience, and I'm honestly not entirely sure whether I'd consider it a must-visit in Changsha.It's a large, green, and pleasant park, with beautiful riverside views and plenty of space for walking. If you enjoy places with historical significance or simply want to experience a different side of the city, it's definitely worth considering.Most visitors seem to take the sightseeing train to the southern end of the island, where the famous Mao Zedong statue is located. That's also where you'll find plenty of people taking photos, so don't expect a particularly quiet experience.The main downside is that visiting the island takes quite a bit of time, especially if you want to explore it properly. And while it's certainly a nice place, I'm not sure the experience justifies spending several hours here if you have a limited amount of time in Changsha and other places you'd like to see.On the other hand, if you're simply looking for a relaxing walk through a green park, with opportunities to stop by the river and enjoy the scenery, it's a lovely option.Overall, I'd say it's worth visiting if you have some extra time or are particularly interested in Chinese history. Otherwise, I wouldn't necessarily put it at the very top of your Changsha itinerary.

The Hunan Provincial Museum boasts a magnificent collection of artifacts, connecting the Hunan civilization from Shang and Zhou bronzes to the Mawangdui Han Dynasty tombs. The museum houses a large number of national treasures, witnessing the splendor and legend of southern civilization. What makes the Hunan Provincial Museum unique compared to other museums is that it has replicated the tomb pit of Lady Xin Zhui from the Mawangdui Han Dynasty tombs at a 1:1 scale, extending across multiple exhibition halls. Visitors can see from above ground to underground, from everyday scenes to coffins and remains. Being there is truly awe-inspiring.
尘尘Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village
Choosing the right accommodation is crucial when visiting the Miao Village! The view from Luanxi is absolutely stunning; you can admire the stilted houses and the lights of countless homes right from your room, without having to squeeze onto the viewing platform. It's just steps from the popular photo spots, the room was impeccably clean, and the bedding was comfortable. Once we arrived at the scenic area, the butler helped with our luggage, explained the sightseeing routes, and recommended some delicious restaurants – we ate there twice! The hotel offers afternoon tea and a bedtime soup; highly recommended, I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit the Miao Village.

We visited at the end of October. At this time of year, the area is no longer as crowded, so we were able to head straight from the visitor center to the entrance of the scenic area without any wait. The route begins with an elevator ride down into the valley. There is only one path, so it’s impossible to get lost. Near the stalls, there is a staircase leading quite a way up the rock face—but this is a dead end; you have to head back down the steps to continue along the path in the valley. At the end of the valley, we took a shuttle to Longshuixia. There, you first enter a tunnel, and upon exiting it, you take an elevator down into the gorge. Again, there is only one path, so you cannot get lost. At the end of the gorge, a shuttle awaits to take you back to the visitor center. Everything is very well organized.

The Three Natural Bridges in Wulong District, Chongqing are the core scenic area of the World Natural Heritage site "South China Karst". They are also the largest natural bridge group in Asia. The Tianlong Bridge, Qinglong Bridge and Heilong Bridge are arranged longitudinally within less than 1.5 kilometers, sandwiching the Tianlong Tiankeng and Shenying Tiankeng, forming a unique "three bridges sandwiching two sinkholes" spectacle in the world.
