There are 3 core areas: Zhagana, the Rock Road (Jiangdie Highway), and Ganjia Secret Realm. The fee structures are completely different.
Zhagana: Admission is CNY 80/person. Students get half-price. Buy tickets directly at the window. No reservation is required. However, during the peak season in July and August, daily capacity is limited to 20,000 people. I recommend arriving before 7:30 AM to get a parking spot and catch the first wave of morning mist. The shuttle bus costs CNY 40–50/person round trip and connects Dongwa Village, Yeri Village, Dari Village, Yixiantian, and Fairy Beach. If you aren't up for a lot of walking, I recommend taking it, as walking the whole route takes too long. Tickets are usually valid for multiple entries over a few days, making it very cost-effective if you stay in the village for 2 days.
Rock Road (Jiangdie Highway): Passing through is free‼️ It is essentially a national highway. As long as you don't enter the Zhagana scenic area parking lot or paid attractions, and just drive through the transit route, you don't need to buy a ticket or worry about time limits. Entering from the Zhagulü Town direction and exiting through the Zhagana North Gate, there's a high chance you'll save CNY 80. I've personally verified that people have done this.
Ganjia Secret Realm: Admission is CNY 80 + CNY 40 for the shuttle bus, totaling a CNY 120 package. Private cars cannot enter. You must transfer to the scenic shuttle bus. Visitors over 65 are exempt from the admission fee and only pay the CNY 40 bus fare. If you don't want to buy the package, you can just view the White Stone Cliff and grasslands from the perimeter without entering the paid loop.
🚗 The Rock Road is truly stunning, but also truly dangerous‼️
The total length is about 106 km. The first 35 km and the last 35 km are paved asphalt roads, while the middle 30–65 km section is unpaved gravel with potholes and sharp cliffside turns. You must drive it during the day; do not attempt it at night. When crossing the Guanggaishan Mountain, there are cliffs on both sides with no guardrails, which is extremely dangerous.
Vehicle requirements: An SUV or off-road vehicle is strongly recommended, preferably 4WD. Sedans can barely make it on sunny days if you drive slowly, but never risk it on rainy days, as the risk of bottoming out is very high.
