A 3-Day, 2-Night Moët & Chandon Itinerary: Exploring the Champagne Region. — traveler post in Epernay

A 3-Day, 2-Night Moët & Chandon Itinerary: Exploring the Champagne Region.

🍾 Following the footsteps of Moët & Chandon for 3 days and 2 nights, exploring the Champagne region and slowly absorbing the charm of its town of origin. When talking about France, many people might think of Paris, the Eiffel Tower, or the Louvre Museum. But if you are a wine enthusiast or love the stories of world-class brands, there's another town you must visit at least once: Épernay, a small town in the Champagne region that is home to Moët & Chandon. This trip isn't about rushing to check off landmarks. Instead, it's a slow-paced journey to learn just how much history and meticulous craftsmanship go into a single bottle of champagne before it reaches our celebration table. ⸻ ✈️ Day 1: From Paris to the Capital of Champagne Starting from Paris, it takes about an hour and a half by train to reach Épernay. Upon stepping out of the station, the first thing you feel is tranquility. The town isn't large, making it highly walkable, and it's filled with very classic French-style buildings. In the afternoon, it's highly recommended to take a stroll down Avenue de Champagne, the famous street lined with champagne houses on both sides. Many might not know that beneath this avenue lies a network of champagne cellars stretching for miles, housing hundreds of millions of aging champagne bottles. It's considered one of the most valuable underground sites in the world. In the evening, find a nice French restaurant and pair your dinner with a glass of champagne. I guarantee the atmosphere will be completely different from drinking it at home. ⸻ 🥂 Day 2: The Highlight of the Trip – Discovering Moët & Chandon Today is the day many have been waiting for. It's advisable to book a Moët & Chandon tour in advance, as slots fill up quite quickly, especially during the peak tourist season. As you walk in, you'll be greeted by a historic mansion before descending into the underground cellars that span over 28 kilometers. The temperature down there is pleasantly cool year-round because the cellars are carved into chalk bedrock, making it the perfect environment for aging champagne. Your guide will walk you through its history, from its founding in 1743 to the production process, aging techniques, and the story of Dom Pérignon—a name familiar to many in the champagne world. At the end of the tour, you'll get to enjoy a champagne tasting. Whether it's the Brut Impérial or the Rosé Impérial, it's a fantastic opportunity to taste them right where they are made. The ambiance makes that glass of champagne indescribably special. In the afternoon, you can also drop by other champagne houses like Perrier-Jouët or Pol Roger, as they are just a short distance away. ⸻ 🍇 Day 3: Exploring Reims Before Returning to Paris Before heading back, consider stopping by the city of Reims, which is only about half an hour away. This city is a major hub of the Champagne region and is home to the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Reims, where many French kings were crowned. Besides historical landmarks, Reims boasts several other renowned champagne houses, such as Veuve Clicquot, Taittinger, and Ruinart. If you have time, try to visit at least one of them. You'll see that even though they are in the same region, each house has its own unique identity and story. In the afternoon, catch a train back to Paris, wrapping up the trip on a relaxing note. ⸻ 🍾 Why Is This Trip Worth Taking? Many people might view Épernay as just a small town with champagne factories. But once you actually walk its streets, you'll realize the entire town feels like a living museum. Every building, every cellar, and every vineyard holds stories that have been passed down for centuries. Seeing the birthplace of world-class champagne gives every glass you drink from now on a much deeper meaning. ⸻ ✨ Summary If you have 3 days in France and want to switch from bustling city tours to experiencing the slow life in the Champagne region, this trip is incredibly worthwhile. You get to learn about champagne right at its source, taste it where it's made, stroll through a charming small town, and experience a side of France that many may have never seen. Sometimes, the best memories aren't made in the most crowded places, but in small towns that have been doing the same thing with passion and dedication for hundreds of years. :::

Moët & Chandon — The Great Champagne House. — traveler post in Epernay

Moët & Chandon — The Great Champagne House.

Moët & Chandon is not just champagne; it's the very essence of French luxury. Founded in 1743, this grand house has remained a symbol of impeccable taste, celebration, and refined style for nearly three centuries. 🇫🇷🥂 Every glass of Moët & Chandon radiates brilliance, elegance, and that effortless luxury that never goes out of style. 💎 There are two ways to visit Moët & Chandon in Épernay, the unofficial capital of Champagne: 1. Book a guided tour 🎟️: A visit featuring a guided tour and champagne tasting (starting at €48 per person). You can book the tour via their official website. It includes a brand introduction, a deep dive into its 300-year history and the champagne-making process, a cellar visit, and a tasting of their signature champagne. Children of all ages (0+) are welcome. 👧. 2. Reserve a table at the bar 🌿: The Moët & Chandon estate features an on-site bar you can visit. It’s highly recommended to reach out in advance by phone or email (contact details are available on their official website) to secure your spot. 📧 ‼️ Tours are conducted in both French and English. You can select your preferred language when booking. ❤️🔥 If you’re going specifically for the vibe, don’t just stop at the bar—plan a full Épernay experience: grab a drink at the bar, take a stroll down the iconic Avenue de Champagne, and add a cellar tour to your itinerary. This is the most aesthetic way to visit for the best photos and unforgettable memories. 📍 18-20 Avenue de Champagne, 51200, Épernay, France. 🚂 The easiest way to get to Moët & Chandon from Paris is by train or car. The estate is located in Épernay, about 1 hour and 20 minutes by train from Gare de l’Est, and just a 5-minute walk from the Épernay station. Train tickets are around €30. The Most Expensive Street in the World! — traveler post in Epernay

The Most Expensive Street in the World!

The most expensive street in the world isn’t in Paris 🇫🇷 or New York 🇺🇸. It’s located in the small French town of Épernay. 🌿 Above ground, you’ll find the stunning mansions and iconic signs of Moët & Chandon, Mercier, De Castellane, Perrier-Jouët, and Pol Roger. But right beneath your feet lie 110 km of chalk cellars holding over 200 million bottles of champagne. It’s this subterranean "gold" that makes Avenue de Champagne far more valuable than many of the world's most prestigious addresses. 🍾 🍾 🍾 Avenue de Champagne in Épernay is considered one of the world's most expensive streets not because of its real estate or sky-high rent, but because billions of euros worth of champagne are aging just below the surface. 💶 Why is it considered "the most expensive"? 🔥 · Underground wealth. This is where over 200 million bottles of champagne are aged to perfection. This is what gives the avenue its unique "worth": land value here is driven less by the grand facades and more by the hidden treasures below. · A hub of legendary houses. The headquarters and estates of renowned producers like Moët & Chandon, Mercier, Pol Roger, Perrier-Jouët, and De Castellane are all located here. These facades serve as the calling cards for brands whose global market caps and stellar reputations exponentially boost the street's overall value. · Historical prestige. In 2015, both the avenue and its underground cellars were added to the UNESCO World Heritage list as part of the "Champagne Hillsides, Houses and Cellars," cementing their extraordinary global significance. 📍 Épernay, France 🚂 How to get there? You can take a train from Paris Est station to Épernay station (the journey takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes). Tickets cost around €30. 🎟️ I highly recommend booking your visits to these legendary houses in advance. For instance, Moët & Chandon offers a guided tour and champagne tasting starting at €48. You can book the tour on their official website, which includes a deep dive into the brand's heritage, a journey through 300 years of champagne-making history, a walk through the cellars, and a tasting of two of their signature champagnes. 🥂🥂🥂

An elegant afternoon in a French town – stroll through the C — traveler post in Epernay

An elegant afternoon in a French town – stroll through the Champagne capital of Epernay This trip came to Épernay, a low-key but extremely elegant Champagne town in northeastern France. The Avenue de Champagne here is definitely the soul of the town, surrounded by trees and historical buildings, walking on the stone road shining with raindrops, even breathing with the romantic bubbles of champagne🫧. Analysis of Epernay's itinerary highlights - The pace here is completely different from Paris, just slow down and walk on Champagne Avenue to savor the leisurely French countryside. Especially on a drizzly afternoon, walking to the city hall garden (Jardin du mairie) and looking at the classical Western-style architecture dotted with mist and street lights in the distance, even if you just sit quietly and enjoy the rain and daze, is enough to take a movie pictorial-like photo. World-renowned Champagne wineries (such as Moët & Chandon, Perrier-Jouët) are lined along the Champagne Avenue, and every antique mansion seems to hide a story of French elegance. Recommended must-see attractions in Epernay—— 1. Avenue de Champagne It is more than one kilometer long and paved with European-style stone slabs, which is the essence of Champagne culture. The forests and street lights on both sides add to the charm when the weather is cloudy, suitable for strolling and taking pictures. It is recommended to make an appointment to visit a couple of wineries to experience an authentic French champagne tasting and feel the mystery of a century-old underground cellar. 2. Jardin du mairie (City Hall Gardens) Address: 7 bis Av. de Champagne, 51200 Épernay, France The town hall garden is a daily oasis for the Epernays, and there is a particularly quiet poetry to walk into on a rainy day. The garden is lined with tall trees, with modern sculptures and beautiful Western architecture as a backdrop, making it a great place to spend an afternoon. If you like to take pictures, don't miss the unique scene of Western-style architecture and bright green tree shadows intertwined in the rain. 3. Champagne winery experience Moët & Chandon, Mercier, Perrier-Jouët and other big-name wineries on the Champagne Boulevard accept tour reservations from visitors. Itinerary tips: · Champagne Avenue is mainly walking, it is recommended to wear waterproof and comfortable shoes + bring a light umbrella, can elegantly and leisurely roam the entire street. · Less crowded on rainy days, photography can capture empty and atmospheric street scenes, architectural close-ups/distant views are also very out of the picture. · The winery is more popular in the morning on weekends and is much quieter in the afternoon or weekday, more suitable for in-depth experiences. Transportation Tips: Paris is about 1.5 hours by SNCF train to Epernay, and a ten-minute walk from the train station to the Avenue des Champagne is very convenient. Food Recommendations: With small town cafes and bakeries abound, we recommend a classic French breakfast at Le Progres (7 Place Pierre Mendès France) near the Champagne Boulevard before kicking off a day of winery roaming. #Champagne Boulevard #Slow Tour of French Town #Epernay Itinerary #Winery Exploration #Europe Travel Tips

Disneyland Paris

This trip to Disneyland Paris was the main event, and the two of us decisively bought the one-day, two-park express pass, which we felt was well worth it. We entered the park at 10:30 am and experienced almost everything that was available. Some popular rides have queues of up to 45 minutes, but the express pass significantly reduced that waiting time, allowing for more time to enjoy the park. I recommend the roller coasters, Indian Mine Train, and the drop tower. The Pirates of the Caribbean ride is far less thrilling than the Shanghai Disneyland ride, though it's somewhat similar to the Shanghai Disneyland's Spectacular Adventure.

Notre-Dame Cathedral of Paris

Teacher Ju Zi's explanation of Notre Dame Cathedral was fantastic! Professional and engaging, she clearly and movingly explained the architectural history and the "Chinese people in Notre Dame," packed with valuable information throughout. I learned a lot and highly recommend it!

Louvre Museum

The Louvre Museum is a bucket list item for me. The exhibits were mesmerising and I made it a point to visit every single gallery. There was also a special exhibition on Mesopotamia which featured rare artifacts from Susa and various periods of the Mesopotamian city states. A must see! The visit on October 17, 2026 coincided with the peak of the student protests. Not once was I harrassed or felt unsafe. Kudos to the kindness of the French people. J'adore!

Eiffel Tower

It was a great summit experience, and the accompanying Seine River cruise was also excellent. Our guide was Korean and spoke both English and French, so I had no problem communicating with her in French. There was also a very friendly elderly Australian couple in our group; they even gave me a small souvenir before I left.

Palace of Versailles

The Palace of Versailles was an incredible experience and definitely a highlight of my trip to France. The palace itself is absolutely breathtaking, with stunning architecture, beautiful rooms, and so much history around every corner. The ticketing process was simple, and the ticket was easy to use for entry into all the main areas of the palace. We were able to explore comfortably without any problems. The only downside was that some parts of the gardens were under construction during our visit, so we couldn’t fully experience the gardens at their best. However, this did not take away from the overall experience. Versailles is still a must-see destination and a place I would highly recommend visiting.

Worth taking the ride specially during the evening when Eiffel is about to light up. Glad to see Eiffel Tower lighting and sparkling too. Got the scenic view of Notre-Dame Cathedral, Louvre Museum and Musée d'Orsay also.
