🐉 The Abandoned Water Park near Hue Not every place is worth visiting because it's beautiful. Some places are worth visiting because they tell a story. This giant dragon is part of an abandoned water park just outside Hue, Vietnam. The park opened in 2004 with big ambitions, but due to low visitor numbers and financial problems, it closed only a few years later. Today, nature is slowly reclaiming the site, turning it into one of Vietnam's most unusual hidden attractions. The dragon is the highlight of the park. You can climb inside and walk up to its mouth, where you'll get a great view over the lake. While graffiti has changed the original appearance, it also reminds you that this place has taken on a life of its own. 💡 Practical tips: It's located about 10 km from Hue city center. The easiest way to get there is by scooter or Grab. Wear sturdy shoes, as many paths and stairs are damaged. Visit early in the morning or late in the afternoon for cooler temperatures and better light for photos. Places like this remind me that even the biggest dreams don't always succeed. In the end, nature always finds a way to take back what was once hers. #travel2026 #vietnam #hue
