Leuven, located in the Flemish province of Brabant, Belgium, about 25 kilometers from Brussels, has a population of approximately 104,000 and is a renowned university city and research center. It is home to the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven), founded in 1425, the oldest university in the Low Countries and one of the most prestigious institutions of higher learning in Europe. The Leuven City Hall in the city center, built in the 15th century, is one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in Europe; the adjacent St. Peter's Church houses Dirk Booz's masterpiece, *The Last Supper*. The Grand Basilica of Leuven is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, showcasing the unique medieval religious community. Leuven is also an important birthplace of Belgian beer culture, boasting a long brewing tradition. Today, the city perfectly blends its rich history, vibrant academic atmosphere, and dynamic modern life, making it one of Belgium's most charming cultural cities.
