· This town is so beautiful that it touches my heart. It is not only beautiful, but also very comfortable! Valldemossa is located in the northwest of Mallorca, Spain. If you have the chance, you must come here to experience its beauty and tranquility firsthand! For this fairytale town, I took Qiqi on a special trip to Spain · 【Valldemossa】 ✅ Chopin and George Sand once lived here ✅The town is hidden in the mountains, natural and simple, with a different view at every step ✅The famous landmark is the Carthusian Monastery, which has a small museum displaying items from the time Chopin and George Sand lived there · 【Car rental in Mallorca】 1. Pick up the car at Palma Airport and drive from Palma to Valldemossa, which takes about half an hour 2. When picking up the car, the person who made the reservation needs to show the original driver's license and the Spanish sworn translation - [Self-driving in Mallorca] 1. Charming Hotel in the Heart of Sóller

A lovely small hotel right in the center of Sóller, just steps away from the train station that hosts the historic train to Palma and the tram stop leading to Port De Sóller. The main square, cafes, restaurants, shopping streets, bakeries, and key attractions are all within walking distance. You can also start great hikes directly from town on the GR walking trail. The local bus service to Valldemossa and Deià is fast and convenient. We stayed in a charming room that wasn’t in the main building—it was clean, comfortable, and spacious, featuring a great bathroom and a walk-in shower. The mountain view rooms in the main building must be stunning! The small pool was delightful, perfect for relaxing after a day of walking. Breakfast was excellent, available starting at 7:30 am, and could be enjoyed either in the restaurant or the lovely courtyard. Though we didn’t have much interaction with the staff, they were courteous and responsive whenever we did. This hotel is an excellent choice for a short getaway or a stay of up to a week.

It’s lively late into the night and convenient for joining organized tours. Cons: Parking is scarce and daily rates are high. If you're renting a car, it's essential to confirm that your accommodation provides private parking. Sóller or Port de Sóller — [Best for: Relaxation / Small-Town Charm / Quiet Getaways] Features: A picture-perfect, fairytale village nestled in the western mountains. It’s famous for its vintage wooden tram and seaside restaurants where you can enjoy the sunset while you dine. Cons: The mountain roads in the west are narrow and winding, which can be challenging for beginners, especially when driving at night. Port de Pollença or Southeast Coast (Cala d'Or) — [Best for: Snorkeling / Car Renters] Features: Close to famous cliffside beaches (Calas) like Caló des Moro and Cala Llombards. You’ll find many resort-style accommodations with easier parking options. Cons: It takes a significant amount of time to travel back to Palma city or the airport. 2. Driving & Parking Tips for Renters Vehicle Choice: Because the streets in small towns like Valldemossa and Deià are extremely narrow, a small hatchback or compact SUV is much easier to handle when passing other cars or parking. Blue Zone Parking (Zona ORA): You must pay for a ticket at a kiosk or via the app (mobiAPParc) and display it on your dashboard. If you get a ticket for staying past your time, you can often "cancel" it at the kiosk by pressing the 'Cancel' button and paying a small fee (around 6 euros). 3. Valldemossa, Spain 🇪🇸 Explored the beautiful mountain village of Valldemossa, nestled in the Serra de Tramuntana at around 409 metres above sea level, on the Balearic island of Mallorca. Wandered through its charming cobbled streets, stone houses and flower-filled lanes. Visited the historic Royal Charterhouse (Cartoixa de Valldemossa), including the monastery, old pharmacy and the rooms associated with Frédéric Chopin and George Sand, who spent the winter of 1838–39 here. Also enjoyed the viewpoints and mountain scenery around the village—a peaceful and picturesque corner of Mallorca that feels like stepping into another era. Magical Stay with Exceptional Service

A truly delightful experience in a magical setting. The hilltop location provides breathtaking views from every angle. All facilities are first-rate. The room was very private and cozy, featuring a stunning terrace. What truly stood out, though, was the exceptional service. From our arrival to departure, the staff was accommodating without being intrusive, offering dining tips and activity suggestions both in person and via emails, while also helping with reservations. Special thanks to Manuel, who greeted us with enthusiasm and acted as our personal concierge throughout our stay (kudos as well to Jesus, Pablo, and Gon). The on-site restaurant truly amazed us with innovative takes on traditional dishes, complemented by creative cocktails and local wines. The bar and restaurant team were friendly, engaging, and attentive. Additionally, its proximity to the picturesque village of Valldemossa, just a short walk away, was a bonus. Valldemossa Hotel is an immaculate retreat that I couldn’t recommend more highly.

Mallorca surprised me with how much there is to see away from the typical beach resorts. Think historic mountain towns, cobbled streets, little bakeries, cafés hidden between stone buildings and some incredible coastal scenery. If you’re planning a trip, these are a few stops I’d definitely add to the itinerary 👇 🚋 Sóller One of the most charming towns on the island. Walk around the historic centre, explore the smaller streets and watch the iconic wooden tram pass through town. The area around Plaça de la Constitució is especially beautiful. 📸 Don’t miss: · The historic Sóller tram · Plaça de la Constitució · The streets around the old town · Local shops and markets · A slow wander with no particular route — some of my favourite spots were the ones we simply came across 🌿 Valldemossa Possibly one of the prettiest villages in Mallorca. Stone houses, green shutters, plants everywhere and narrow cobbled streets make the whole village feel incredibly picturesque. 🥐 Stop at Ca’n Molinas A traditional bakery in Valldemossa and a great place to take a break. If you visit, try a coca de patata, the soft potato bun Valldemossa is famous for. ☕ Take time for the cafés One thing I loved about these villages was how easy it was to find little terraces and cafés tucked beneath the trees. Mallorca is definitely a place where slowing down is part of the experience. 🌊 And of course… the coast Save some time for Mallorca’s coves and beaches. After exploring the villages, ending the day by the Mediterranean is hard to beat.
