just hit up Charlestown, Rhode Island, and spent the perfect chill day at Blue Shutters Beach 🏖️✨ Waterfront breezes, soft sand, and a laid-back crowd made this local gem feel like a summer secret!
Must-See Spot: Blue Shutters Beach
Address: 469 E Beach Rd, Charlestown, RI 02813
Hours: 9AM–5PM Mon-Fri, 8AM–5PM Sat & Sun (year-round)
Why Visit? Blue Shutters Beach is all about wide-open sands, easy waves, and stunning ocean views. Whether you’re coming for sunrise yoga, sandcastle hangs, or one of those beach walks that never get old, this spot delivers on chill and beauty. The vibe is relaxed and family-friendly—no wild parties, just the sound of waves and happy locals.
Practical Tips:
Parking can fill up late morning in peak season, so aim to arrive before 10AM for the best spot. Don’t stress if you’re traveling light—there are clean restrooms on-site and outdoor showers to rinse the saltwater off. Pack snacks! The area is more about nature than food stands, so bring your own cooler or picnic.
Getting Around:
You’ll need a car to get here—public transit is limited. Once on E Beach Rd, the entrance is well-marked but easy to miss, so keep your eyes peeled! Bike racks available if you’re cycling in.
Food Rec:
Swing by ‘The Cove’ (20 min drive) for post-beach seafood, or grab a coffee at a local cafe in town before you hit the sand.
Weather:
Even in summer, bring a light sweater—the Atlantic breeze can get cool fast.

Shirahige Falls /Blue Pond Biei Hokkaido
During winter time the pond becomes White Pond. If one going during spring or summer or autumn , you can actually walked down the trail . But the day I went I think it’s a -6 and getting cold, hence went up to the bridge for photo instead.
Shirahige Falls stream down the cliff face into Biei River. Mount Tokachi, where the waters of Shirogane Hot Springs is sourced from, absorbs some of the water it catches down to become ground water over time. mixing with the minerals all the way from mount, it came out BLUE.
Well, during winter , it’s so white so you need to stare very hard on the picture . Next to the bridge there is a place for hot spring .
How to get there: Drive or Bus tour from Sapporo. I support the Bus tour. #greentravel
