Xiaogan

Xiaogan is situated in the northeast of Hubei province, close to the provincial capital Wuhan. The south of the region is mainly flat, while the north is surrounded by hills and mountains. The soil here is particularly fertile and the region produces a large amount of grain, cotton and oil. In ancient times, Xiaogan was at the center of the Zhou dynasty state of Chu. There are numerous ancient tombs and historical ruins such as the Yuwang and Chuwang Ruins. Other attractions include Shuangfeng Mountain, Tangchi Hot Spring Resort, Tianzi Lake and Guanyin Lake.
