Photos of Yongchang Mausoleum
Yongchang Mausoleum is located in the north of Xicun Town, Gongyi City. It is the tomb of Zhao Kuangyin, the founding emperor of the Northern Song Dynasty. The mausoleum is adjacent to his father Zhao Hongyin Xuanzu Yong'an Mausoleum in the east, and his brother Zhao Guangyi Taizong Yongxi Mausoleum in the west. It is said that Yongchang Mausoleum was chosen by Zhao Kuangyin himself. After visiting the mausoleum of his parents, he climbed the corner tower and sighed that time flies, so he took out his bow and arrow and shot it in the northwest direction, and told the minister where the arrow fell was his "Imperial Hall" and named it Yongchang. The Yongchang Mausoleum is well preserved. The mausoleum is about 15 meters high. There are one gate in the east, west, north and south, and a pair of stone lions are placed outside each of the four gates. Outside the south gate of the cemetery and north of the stone lions, there is a pair of warriors from the town gate; Between the South Gate and Rutai, the Shinto things are 45 meters apart, and various stone elephants are arranged symmetrically. There are 37 pieces in existence, including 1 elephant tamer, 2 envoys on the east side, 3 horse controllers, 2 envoys and 1 military general on the west side. In addition, in Yongchang Mausoleum, you can also see the only sheep-headed Swiss bird in Song Mausoleum. There are also two warriors with rather peculiar statues: two warriors have large heads, one wears a huge helmet, even covering his ears, and stands crooked with his weapon; the other is tall but holds a small pocket Axe, smiling.
