Puji Zen Temple is one of the three ancient temples in Macau, and its founding date is unknown. Currently, there is an iron bell in the temple dating from the fifth year of Chongzhen (1632), which shows its long history. The Zen Temple was later renovated and expanded twice in the 23rd year of Jiaqing (1818) and the 8th year of Xianfeng (1858), forming its current scale.
