Dianchi Dragon King Temple was built in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty, 300 years ago, located in the west of Haitang Park, across the lake from the Longmen Scenic Area of Xishan. The Dragon King Temple was once an important activity place for fishermen and indigenous people around Dianchi Lake to pray for wind and rain. The temple was once dedicated to the gods such as Huanglong Wang, Liuwang, Dragon Princess, shrimp and crabs. The Dragon King Temple has been destroyed and repaired many times in history. The temple was restored in 2009.
