When we visited, the staff were very happy to see us and several others in the museum who helped turn on the lights and explain things but never bothered. The collection was very interesting and a reward for those who only had an hour or so to visit.
It is a rather large house owned by Dutch scholar Bert Flint, who has a passion for the art deco art of the Sahara nomads. It is part of his collection and is used as an imaginary journey through the Sahara desert. The house has textiles, jewelry, intricate leather goods and woodwork.
Burt Flint curated this charming corner of African decorative art, wondering if there was anything more to suit this exquisite RIAD. From Mali, Algeria, Mauritania and Morocco to many Berber tribes, each room is a new insight into the decorative traditions of different ethnic groups. From here, you can appreciate the stunning design and decoration across all ages in Africa.
