Hatta Daji is located in the square courtyard of Polonnaruwa, just north of the circular Buddhist house, next to the east side of Atadaji, is the Buddha Tooth Chapel built by NissankaMalla to preserve the Buddha Tooth Relic. There is a huge stone book GalPota on the edge of the site. The stone book is 9 meters long, 1.5 meters wide, 66 centimeters thick, and weighs 25 tons. It is said that this stone book was transported from Mihintale, which is a hundred kilometers away. The Sinhala scriptures engraved on it describe King NissankaMalla's resistance to Indian aggression, diplomatic relations with various countries, and even mentioned Indonesia. and Pakistan. 1. History Hatta Daji was built in the 12th century during the time of the Nisan Kamara king, and legend has it that it was built within 60 days. On the wall on the right side of the gate is a Sanskrit inscription praising King Nisan Kamala, and the musicians and dancers carved around are also vivid and lifelike. 2. Current status The original building was two floors, and now only the masonry remains. There are tall stone walls outside, and there are records from the south and east to enter the ruins. Move to the inside and there are walls separating small areas. There is also a moon stone at the entrance of the main hall, and there are three granite Buddha statues about two meters high inside.
