Photos of Qilian Mountain Grassland

The average altitude of the Qilian Mountains is between 4,000 and 5,000 meters, and the long and wide glaciers formed by the snow on the high mountains are magnificent. The place above 4,000 meters above sea level is called the snow line. Above the snow line of Qilian Mountains, there are often reverse biological wonders. Among the shallow snowy mountain layers, there are mushroom-shaped silkworms called snow mountain meadow plants, as well as precious medicinal materials-alpine snow lotus, and a snow mountain grass that grows under wind-eroded rocks. Therefore, snow lotus, silkworm, and snow mountain grass are collectively called the "Three Friends of Suihan" on the snow line of Qilian Mountains. Qilian Mountain Grassland, its representative Damaying Grassland is in the basin between Yanzhi Mountain and Qilian Mountain. Every July and August, the Qilian Mountains connected to the grassland are still covered in snow, but the grassland is covered with blue waves, dotted with horses, cattle and sheep.
