Beijing Wild Duck Lake Wetland Nature Reserve is located in the northwest of Yanqing District, Beijing, which belongs to the transition zone of the North China Plain to the Shanxi Plateau and Inner Mongolia Plateau. It is a transit station for the international bird migration route "East Asia-Australia route". [1] The area was originally the lower reaches of the Lishui River and Caijia River in the eastern Yanqing Basin. The Guanting Reservoir was built in 1955, forming a huge artificial lake wetland. The reserve is located in the upper reaches of the reservoir, with ditches and crosses and many Kuwans. The reserve covers a total area of 6,873 hectares, of which 3,939 hectares are wetlands, making it the largest wetland nature reserve in Beijing and the only wetland bird nature reserve.
